This tutorial video shows first time users how to load a drum kit into the Maschine sequencer
It shows you how to browse for the kit you wish to use and load it so you can start playing live or sequencing it via the step sequencer.
Browsing and loading kits or sounds in Maschine is one of the main workflow benefits of the product. Being able to quickly dial in or filter out exactly which sound or kit you want really aids in an efficient workflow when producing.

Maschine is looking Fresh N so CLEAN CLEAN…Much BETTA! I like the video setup on this tutorial, good stuff……NEXT!!!!!
Glad you like it, I do to, it's my new default way of doing tutorials on here when I need to show both the screen and hardware.
one thing ive always got stuck on here – in this grid – presumably 4 x4 – the snares and the high hats are a thin strip – however – when i add one its a chunk like the kicks – never did get that. Must have missed something.; The only way i can get them like that – for rolls etc – its when i change the grid to 64 or something – did they record on a higher grid then set it back or someting?
you can do that, you can change the grid when recording different parts if you wish.
How did you get all your NI kits under one heading. For example. removing the 1.5 drums. Is there a difference in 1.5 vs the 1.6 drums.
I just took the 1.5 tag off of my banks, I didn’t need it since they all show up under regular kits anyway. there are no new kits in 1.6 though.
ok thats what I needed to know also
word
Really awesome site, nice setup!
thanks, glad you like it, we try to make it as helpful and easy to get around as possible!
Fun fact : Console is actually pronounced like Con Soul eh because of the artist being german. Not that it matters… just saying 🙂
Kind of like Maschin-uh lol, funny the differences!
yo saintjoe when i load a drum it and I tap them individually i get a crackling sound with the drum sound. can you help me get the crackling sound out. thanks
Sounds like a problem with your audio settings. What audio interface are you using, go into it’s settings and raise your buffer a bit. If you’re using an internal soundcard and you’re on a PC go download asio4all and use that as your sound device. It will give you better results.
thanks for the info joe, i have another issue I bought maschine as my sample tool but use reason for my music editing. After i create the sample beat that I want on maschine how do I send that sample to reason software so I can further compose my music?
No doubt fam. You can either drag and drop the audio or export it. Check these videos out

just got the Maschine, I loaded up the Komplete Elements disk with all the samples.
I do not see a “Lib” tap next to my “disk” tab when looking for samples.
When I try to use my Hardware, hitting the browse button, I am not able to go through my bank ,type, or subtype.
I loaded the CD to the default location.
whats my problem?
This video was done on an earlier version, the lib tab is now mixed with the disk tab so clicking the disk tab lets you switch between your own computer hard drive and the maschine library
When hitting the browse button, what is the first category you see? It will be groups, instruments, samples, etc…then you can change the types and subtypes. Do you not see anything at all? What shows up in the software under your browser?
When I load a kit the pads light up, and if I hit them I get sound but when I press play I hear nothing
you only hear something when you press play after you make a pattern
My Maschine pad wont let me scroll over to the blue square where the kits are, so i have to do it on the actual software. is there a way around this?
make sure you are browsing groups and not sounds on the controller
new to this all. twentyyears from being connected. just purchased Maschine. It seems that there is no “LIB” tab at the top left corner. Am I missing something?
Yeah they actually changed it, it’s now just a “disk” tab and you click it to go between the maschine library and your own hard disc
Do you have 2.0 tutorials? I just got the studio and am starting with that. I’m trying to follow, but a lot has changed in maschine 2.0
Yes. Click the link at the top that says maschine 2 quickstart or the maschine 2.0/maschine studio links along the side of the site.
Yo yo, How would i load a pattern from one project onto another? i have one project with one drum pattern but the other pattern is on a completely different project, i thought i could just click on pattern number 2 then “open” but it won’t allow me to open that project.
🙂 cheers
In 2.0 you would have to save it as a midi file https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-how-to-save-your-patterns-for-use-with-other-projects-and-groups/
ahh im not on 2.0
In that case, you can save the pattern and recall it later 🙂

How do you get it so all the pads play at the same volume? For example when you hit the pads soft it plays a lite sound vs. the volume being higher when you hit it harder.
Press the pad mode button, then press “fixed velocity”
SaintJoe,
Is there a way to save a specific sound from a drum kit onto a pad then a different sound from a different kit onto the next pad. Kinda like a mix and match of the sounds to create a unique Group? Thanks!
Yeah you can do that, or you can browse through the samples instead of kits and load the ones you want. Here’s a way to make a new kit from multiple factory kits.
