This tutorial video shows you the different options available to you when you are ready to export your audio from Maschine.
You can export as 1 whole stereo file, or export each group or even each sound individually.
This is useful if you want to share your tracks and projects, or if you want to separate each of your wave files for mixing in a separate daw.
If you need to take your music to a studio to record, it’s also good to have the separate audio tracks in that instance as well.
Basically, there will come a time when you need to get whatever you created in Maschine out of it.

Damn Joe, that beat was kinda hot! Good tutorial. How do you burn to CD?
you can use something like nero or other free cd burner software
when exporting will all my effects i have on my tracks be played correctly in my daw of choice?
yes, when you choose to export the master output all fx will be printed on the files
but what if i want each seprete sound exported to a wave file, will the fxs i put on them still be played correctly in my daw, i heard a while ago some people had problems with this process
yes, they should still be exported with the fx
Hi Saintjoe,
I want to export track by track (all sounds) of my drums kit, wich as a lot of FX on each sound, but when i play them in my DAW, there is no FX at all.
I dont see any options to export with FX, what’s the method please ?
Are you using insert or send fx? It should work with inserts but you may run into issues with send fx when exporting
wow ;-/
its a drum kit from True School. did touch anything
if i cant export the FX, whats the point ?
it should export, how are you doing it, individual sounds or exporting the group?
Individual sounds
try exporting the group with the drums and see how that works, if the fx are on the group that would be the issue
When i export the group as one audio track, the FX are there.
thats really annoying since NI selling (great) extensions like True School, with FX on the group itself!
impossible to export track by track with those FX, whats the point ?
I think the point is how Maschine’s engine is setup. If you want the fx of the group you can export the group itself and they will be there, if you want fx on the individual sounds, the fx need to be on the individual sounds and not the group. For example, if you’re putting FX on a whole group, you probably already have everything how you want it, where if you want to export individually you would most likely be doing the fx in your daw. If you want individual fx, just use fx on the individual sounds as… Read more »
when i try to export i check loop range and it says “sorry file could not be exported”. you know what the reason for this could be?
Do you have a loop range set?
yeah i grayed in the scenes taht i wanted like you said. i also tried to just export it as all scenes and it says the same thing both ways. im not sure what im doing wrong,
Never heard of this error before, can you drag and drop audio properly? Are you exporting at a bit rate your sound device doesn’t support?
i tried it at every bit depth. i don’t have the maschine plugged into my computer do you think that could be the problem? when you say drag and drop audio do you mean within maschine? cause if so then yes i can do that.
You don’t need the controller connected, by drag and drop audio I mean can you drag audio out of maschine to your desktop or another app?
i can drag and drop audio the way you showed it in that other video by clicking on that button with the 4 arrows then dragging it over to my desktop.
Very interesting as that’s a form of audio export so i’m wondering if something isn’t set right with the project, can you zip it up and send it to me?
I try to export my individual drum sounds as individual wav files but there’s no sound when I try to play them.
The only way for me to export the sounds is by Loop Range>Sounds, with the group with my drum sounds already selected. The sounds are of course the length of the loop range. Is there a way to just export the sounds from your drum kit as they are instead of how they’re used in the song?
set your loop range to the whole song instead of one scene and it will export the sounds for the whole track for the group that is highlighted.
Is there a way to export a fully arranged beat to a wav file without using a prgram like Sonar or Protools? I want the scene to loop a certain number of times then switch to the next and so on and so forth.
Yeah, you just lay it all out using scenes then export the master as a wave file.
I have a problem bro. When I first started exporting it worked fine, it played back and everything but know when I export I can’t hear anything. I recently got Komplete 7 so I’m using it in my production but like I said now I can’t hear anything not even my kits from Maschine when exported. Can you help please?
Make sure you’re not exporting at a bit rate your soundcard can’t playback. Make sure it’s 16 bit. Also, make sure you don’t have other audio apps open when trying to play it back just in case your soundcard isn’t multi client.
Thanks Saint Joe
no problem, glad to help!
whats good SJ. got a question about this function. say i made a drum beat & wanted each performance of each part exported as its individual wav file (hi-hat, kick, & snare patterns) for the length of the entire song. which method would i use…export Group or Sounds?
in that instance you would use sounds and then put a check mark by the sounds you want to export
SJ…you kick a$$ man! thx a bunch brotha!
No doubt fam, have fun 🙂
What’s good Joe? I know its been a min but…been trying to perfect all the knowledge from the tutorials but now I’m having a problem. I made a few tracks in song form using the scenes and was able to export them onto my desktop but when I play them back the volume is dramatically low. When I’m creating through the Maschine I hear everything perfect and I have KRK8 monitors so they knock but after exporting, I have to turn the volume damn near to ax to hear the playback at a decent level. Can you help a brotha… Read more »
You can try checking “normalize” when exporting, though i tend to stay away from it. It’s probably that you have maschine turned up to max for playback. But it shouldn’t be super low like that, make sure there isn’t any funky aux routing going on in your track that could be causing it.
Well when I’m doing my mixing and EQ’s in Maschine I have it where the volume don’t be cliping so I don’t have it that loud running through the program. If I want to hear it louder when I’m creating i usually just adjust the monitors on my Big Knob. But I’m not sure what you mean when you say the track might be going through some type of “AUX” routing. Where should it be routed to?
Cool, well only thing I can think of is trying to turn on “normalize” when you export and see if it makes a difference for you. I meant if you have sounds routed to other sounds for processing etc, it could be that it’s not getting exported properly. I’d try the normalize function, see how that works for you.
hey saintjoe weather im tracking my beat into protools the long way or i convert each individual stem and drag them into protools. i seem to lose some of the sound. its not as big as it is when i play it on maschine itself. is this a normal thing or am i doing something wrong. i mean i can hear the beat and the levels seem to be good but it is sound seems diminished a bit. what do you think i should do?
try normalizing when you export and see if it sounds better
great tutorial..thanks saintjoe!!!!
Glad to help man!
S/J, I have a completed beat that I want to save and email the file to my nephew. How do I convert to MP3 and save the file into Itunes? Also, I watched the tutorial on tracking out into Ableton, do I need this program to accomplish what i referred to in question one? Lastly, I have been working on slicing a sample, do you have a tutorial tthat is geared toward the begginner. I’m new to beat creation and machine, I’m lo9st when it comes to allot of the terms you refer to in the tutorials… I watched several… Read more »
I’m not in LA fam, sorry.
As for the mp3, you can export your entire song like this, then convert to mp3 by using iTunes.
For chopping and slicing watch some of our other tutorials like this one

When someone says “send me the stems” is this all I have to do? Can the engineer then import my stuff into pro tools and then mix from there or even spread my sounds out on a big SSL DUALITY console ?
Yeah this is usually what they mean, the separated tracks
Hello Saint Joe!
I don’t know if anyone had a question about this but please, let me know, how can i export a sound with group and master effects. Example: We inserted a filter on a group and that group have 12 sounds. All sounds pass on filter but if i want to export the sounds individually they export with no filter. Can you help me?
If you are using a group effect you will need to export the group as a single file.
