This video in the software interface overview explains the basic parts of the arranger area in Maschine
The arranger is where you will put together multiple patterns and scenes to form songs or foundations for songs
It is important to understand this area as this is how you bring your performance together after you’ve created all your various parts
Some people would refer to this as “song mode” and that would definitely be a proper reference for this section

hi I was looking at the basic tutorials and I got a bit confused when patterns and scenes were mentioned and groups etc . I’m on my iPhone viewing this so sorry if I have missed something – is there a bid explaining the differences between patterns groups scenes and so on as I’m fairly new to the whole sequencing thing – cheers 🙂
yeah there’s a few things around look for the videos on creating a pattern, etc, there will be more on using scenes to create songs and such.
Basically a scene is a “snapshot” of patterns playing across each group. so a group can only be playing 1 pattern in a scene at a time. A scene can have 8 patterns, which means it holds 1 pattern from each of the 8 groups. Different scenes represent different “snapshots” of patterns. These can be used to create different parts of your song.
hey sj i gotta question. i have created a pattern(A 1) and i have it in scene 1. i would like to make a small change to pattern A1 and call it A2, then place it in scene two. follo me so far? the problem is when i select A2 its blank and i dont know how to copy A1’s pattern into it. and if i make the small change to A1 for scene 2, the change is also there on scene 1. and i dont want scene 1 to change at all. What can i do to solve this… Read more »
check this video here, I’m also gonna do a quick one for just patterns

you can also hit the pattern button, then hit the button up top that says duplicate, it will create a copy of your pattern in the next slot so you can change it.
It sounds like you are not using maschine 1.6, if your patterns still say A1-A16 instead of just 1-16 you need to update to the latest version to do what I did in the video and also to get vst support inside maschine.
yeah my version may not be 1.6 . i just checked the about maschine window and it says 1.5 . so yours says 1.6 ? also i was just checking out the video and i was just thinkin you should also push maschine to come up with a way to move the sequencing bar that goes across the screen manually with the mouse. and a way to bring that seqencer lineback to the left. for example with reason you push “L” and it goes to the begining. with this the only way it goes to the begining is if i… Read more »
shift+restart will take you to the beginning of the sequence, yes you should be running 1.6, make sure you unplug the controller when you update.
What exactly does the RETRIGGER checkbox do? I kind of know how retrigger works with some VST synths … Not really 100% sure. Sorry for all these questions
check this one out 🙂

No need to apologize for asking questions, that’s what we here for! Ask away! glad to help!
Oh Nice!, I like this feature alot, I think this will work nicely with globally pitching the whole song up or down or bpm changes …incrementing it as you retrigger the scene. More of a pyscho breakcore kind of breakdown effect for transitions.
Cool!
I’m a newb and I’m not sure if this has been dealt with before. What I’m trying to do is arrange a song. What’s going on is that I have a verse and chorus consisting of multiple patterns. I want to copy all the scenes in those parts so I don’t have to program every pattern. I can’t figure out how to select multiple scenes and copy them. For example, I want to take all the verse patterns from scenes 1-8 and copy them ALL to the end of the chorus, thus avoiding the hassle of programming three parts for… Read more »
There is currently no way to copy/paste multiple scenes at once unfortunately. It’s a request many of us have had for a while as well. You can duplicate or copy specific scenes all at once. Holding ctrl while dragging.
Ok Im new here and my screen is different again. I cannot highlight New project tab nor can I see the sync and or make scene larger. Is it because I am learning on a Maschine2? Please direct me to setups with that and more all to do with Maschine 2
You should start with the Maschine 2.0 quickstart instead of the Maschine 1 quickstart

Thanks Saintjoe
No problem fam
