Hey another quick tip here for ya, which I find myself using often.
We know you can quickly duplicate patterns to copy them on the hardware.
But there is one method I prefer in the software, and that’s using ctrl+drag (option+drag on mac) to copy things
In this quick tip I show it for patterns, but this works for notes as well

Not again, this one was right under my nose. Maaaaan….I need to pick my nose more often LOL ahahhaha
Good one!!
hahahahaha, you wild son lol
Wow Good one SJ Can you edit it without it changing the previous pattern this way also…. At work right now bro LOL
yeah I use it when I have something going and want to tweak it a bit.
Good tip! Keep em coming there really helpful!
Cool man, I know some may know already but these lil things help me out a lot so figured I would start sharing them.
I do use this one but yeah, MT Quick Tips definitely should be a regular feature because when you discover them, or learn about them, they’re like mini eureka moments lol. To some they might not seem like much on their own but collectively, tips like these can save a lot of time.
I can see the ad for these now: MT Quick Tips. Viagra for the workflow – keeping you at it for longer! lol
word bro, yeah I figured some already knew about these lil tips, but you know, just good to have them anyway for those that don’t. You wild with that viagra joint son lol
Hey Joe Great tip on the mac you have to hold down option then drag not command drag.
thanks stoni! you know I’m not a Mac man lol I was just guessing lol.
Damn! I guess I need to read the manual…..great tip!
add it to the toolbox bro!
Another good one, mane, thnx
My pleasure.
thats cool saintjoe im new to maschine and was wondering if there is any way to get all the patterns saved to my pattern folder as mine is empty.
Everyone’s pattern folder is empty unless you actually save your pattern itself. This is different than saving a project.

this helped alot! is there a way to copy and paste multiple scenes at a time, like I have my verse and hook ready and now I wanna copy and paste that…is that possible?
unfortunately there is no way to select multiple scenes at once for copying/pasting
all good, maybe in 1.8 😉
who knows what update is next and what number it will be
i might be a late bloomer but…i just found out how to duplicate a pattern using the controller. i wonder was this feature available before 1.7?
Yep 🙂
It was there before 1.7

thanks for the tip was very helpful, trying to learn all the function pretty cool. LOL
Yeah there is a lot of smaller things that can be done too, always something to learn
Hahaa, Im clickin my tail off, then I see this… Thanks bro!
Hahahaha, no doubt fam
Yo Joe thanks for the qt. I was wondering how do you edit with in a pattern. For example you got a 4 bar joint and you wanna paste bar 2 to bar 4?
highlight the section you want to copy, copy it, then paste it, then you’ll have to manually move those notes over to bar 4 as it will just paste them over the existing ones but slightly off a bit. We can’t click into the pattern and paste them where we want, trust, many of us have let them know about this, hoping they fix it soon.
SJ, how can I copy and paste midi notes from pattern to another pattern? Let’s say: I got pattern 3 that has great Hihats. I want the hi hat notes in pattern 5.
If I copy paste I see nothing being pasted.
Make sure the notes are actually highlighted then you should be able to copy and paste.
Hey Joe, is there a way to double my patterns in software mode?
Unfortunately it’s only from the hardware for now, I’ve been asking them to add it to the software as well, I’m sure others have too.
Are there any shortcuts to copy and paste or duplicate notes with in the same pattern of an arrangement? Like if I had some notes in a 4 bar loop and I wanted to copy those notes from bars 1 & 2 over to bars 3 & 4 in the same pattern, How could I do that? I know of option + drag, but are there any other methods?
The only other way is to use the shift+ copy or paste pads from the hardware. I feel there needs to be some improvement with the whole copy/paste data management to make it a bit more robust and useful
saint joe! how do you duplicate a note on the mk2 controller? i thought i’d be using the duplicate button but man i’ve only seen that for patterns or scenes so far… thanks man..
You have to highlight the note then you can copy/paste
