This tutorial is showing how to record audio from Maschine in real time to separate audio tracks in Logic
This is for those that like to record their stuff in real time, capturing their performance “in the flow” but still want to be able to mix and apply fx to each track separately later.
of course you still have the option of dragging or exporting audio if you don’t want to do things in real time.
This is just another option for getting your music into your daw

good drop knock..definitely useful..but which do u prefer? tracking in real-time or drag’drop bouncing?
Whats Up King…. I prefer drag and drop. In actuality I would love to just stay in maschine.
I agree, would prefer to stay in Maschine as well.
Oh yeah, Logic needs to be smacked for making this so involved, but thanks for showing how it’s done 🙂
For real…if I could actually smack software..i would go ike turner on Logic. While I was doing the video I was like…”this is ridiculous” LOL… but hey… its there for those who want it..and also saving it as a sorta template will keep you from having to do it each time
Only if Studio One could do this….man I’m pissed!
Imagine how I feel lol, I been asking since 2010 lol
how you like working in studio one, Studio one has it now or I think they do…
Great vid Knock.
HOWEVER….this is the straw that broke my camelback! Ironically, Logic Pro, as much of a production beast as it is, is the reason I came back to PC. By itself, it’s dope! But the minute you want to integrate it with something non-Apple, it’s a grade A bitch! And once I got Maschine I was like PEACE! Lol
Ahahahahaha, crazy man, straight up shenanigans!!
Sh!t is just too confusin, i agree studio 1 needs this fuction… If it did would be my daw intill maschine turns into a daw (ala reason/record)which its my dream…..
its the only next step i see the Native Instruments doing beside making a new controller
Yeah son, they need to keep it sleek and simple man, shouldn’t have to do all that. Just set the input of an audio track to capture the output from one of your plugins or whatever…make it happen! lol
DDaniels3000 how you like studio one
Yep lost me round about the 25 sec mark when the king of workflow speed tells you something is a pain to do its best you stray away from it! LOL SO I think thats one method I want be using anytime soon LOL
Ahahahahaha lol
Remember this vid?

Forget real time!!!! 😀 Can’t imagine what the advantage would be to any other method.
Some people like to capture their actual performance instead of building it manually in Maschine. For them, drag and drop is not the way to go. They want to capture all their mutes, solos, manually drumming, fx tweaks, etc. In real time 🙂
Multiple options man, all about having multiple options 🙂
ah, I see what you mean…didn’t think about that on the fly aspect…
Most useful Maschine tut ever for me. Audio drag and drop is too time consuming, this is more fun because its jamming Maschine into Logic in real time (feels like Ableton in a way!). Many thanks, excellent tutorial
I use Logic and when I do SHift-Control on Maschine nothing plays on the pads.
You only need to pres shift+control if you want to record the midi, if so, you probably need to change the group so it lines up with the midi notes in Maschine and you have to have Maschine set to receive the midi input.
Are you trying to trigger Maschine or just other stuff in Logic?
Also…after hitting shift and control..press group E and see if you get sound on pads then
So i record all the parts in from Logic – great. Now when i add a new Logic instrument track and press a midi key the sound (from that insrument) sticks on never ending release (it doesnt stop – jams on that sound)….
Check your midi routing, make sure you don’t have something looped where you send midi to something and it’s sending it right back to the same place
signed up at 6:50pm its 6:57 setup is golden…best 10 bucks i spent in a while!!!!!!
welcome fam, that’s what we like to hear! Let us know if you have any questions!

I use this method and love it ??
surprised that there’s no set up like this on here ?.
Actually, we had a video on that quite a while ago 😉
https://maschinetutorials.com/sequencing-maschine-inside-of-logic
So the video for how to sequence and track out actually have the same meaning saint joe? oh yeah I didn’t realize this cooley feature under post comment has options of don’t subscribe, all, and replies to my comment. Dang man, I was sleep but now I just hook on to this tool, I was kinda of wondering why I didn’t get emails when my question were responded to..
Word man 🙂 Well tracking out is a term for recording the audio in realtime into your daw, sequencing is more for recording midi data when using it as a plugin inside of your daw 🙂
HEy SaintJoe this is a great tutorial… amazing help me a lot. Thanks!!! So good to record in audio in logic from MAschine but I would like to be able to record in MIDI notes as F-Major explained in another Tut that i watched but I could not get it done at all. because i couldn’t hear any sounds on my pad. Do you have any tutorial where i can be able to record MIDI notes direct into logic as the same way that you did in another tutorial where you record the MIDI notes but was in another DAW?…… Read more »
Yeah fam, actually it was Knock that did this video 🙂 But glad it helped!
Yeah he actually did a video on recording midi in Logic a while ago, he was actually the first to do it.

Hi Knock,
Love this video. Followed it to the letter and it worked fine, saved it as a template too. My issue is, when I go back to the project and open logic, the Maschine window doesn’t pop up, I have to load it manually, i.e. start the maschine program separately, is that correct? Or, should I open maschine first, then the project window?
Maschine should be loaded inside of Logic, the window may not open automatically but it should actually be loaded on a track as a plugin already if you saved a template with it in there. You don’t want to open maschine seperately or before logic as you want it inside of logic.
Once the midi has been recorded in as audio, is it ok to delete all the instrument tracks?
If you have the audio and no longer need the MIDI you can if you want.
