Here’s a quick video showing the Maschine 2.1 update MIDI batch setting for drag and drop into Studio One 2
Again, in 2.0 the way MIDI drag and drop worked was changed, it as a pain to setup, but now it’s back to normal, so it’s quick and simple to drag your MIDI into daw.
This video shows it in Studio One 2, but it’s pretty much the same for most daws.

Roger that!
Indeed sir
This may be what I need to workaround my logic midi sequencing issue for now, still haven’t been able to get the transport controls to work right.
Word, yeah you should be able to drag and drop midi in any DAW
How about triggering from studio one in machine mode. When I select Maschine2 as input in S1 I don’t get any midi signal. I get a signal with my keyboard controller but not Maschine.

I this when you first posted it and added it to my work flow. I was hoping they would fix Maschine like we had it in 1.8 where you didn’t need this work around.
Unfortunately not yet
man I’m confused! can you contact me at j-roc2001@comcast.net
Feel free to ask your question here it may help others as well.
saint joe, you are very helpful with machine ,studio one integration any news on studio one version 3 coming out this summer ?
No info yet, as soon as I get some info I’ll update with new videos though 🙂
what if you have two patterns or more in(example: a pattern going 2 bars pattern 1 and then scene 2 pattern same , then group b pattern is 2 bars but it got double making that 4 and then scene 2 group b would be 2 bar loop…) a group how would you go about midi drag and drop then? also I normally pull maschine studio from the folder but I notice you just open maschine from the instrument track folders, why is that?
You can drag and drop each pattern you want to have into the daw, I drug Maschine over initially, once you drag it in once time you can choose it from the dropdown on an instrument track since it’s already loaded into your session.
Thanks for that man, however is it possible to record direct into Studio One having midi entry going straight into the Studio One track rather than having to drag and drop?
Yeah you can, setup the midi batch setting as done in this video, then follow the steps in the link below

Thanks Joe – I’ve configured this one and hoped the update may have brought something cleaner. I think I’ll stick with trying to get used to the method in this tutorial however. I think I expected Machine to work like a midi pad rather than the drum machine it is, however I do like this difference. My only complaint is not being able to expand the Machine Window in Studio One for some reason to see its full glory.
Yeah I feel you man, I think that got all of us when we first got into Maschine. I still wish it was easier, I feel they could make it work in such a way that it wouldn’t take so much crazy configuration. You can only expand the view to large, but not all the way to full screen when it’s a plugin.
I am not able to drag MIDI from groups that I have been using in “keyboard” mode in machine – for example a bass line or melody on one instrument.
The drums communicate just as in your video, but I am not getting any actual sound from the “keyboard” groups even though it shows it as triggering MIDI on the studio one track and also shows the MIDI notes. Does this make sense? Can’t quite figure it out. Thanks!
You can actually drag those directly from keyboard view instead of the group view,Remember you’ll need to give the individual pad it’s own midi channel instead of doing the “sounds to midi notes” thing.
OK – it’s easier in this case I think to just drag and drop audio.
Well, the only change would be you’re applying midi for the pad itself instead of the group, so you’d give it an input, but, if audio works for ya, that’s cool too. I’m a fan of working with audio personally 🙂
ok I will experiment with it. Thanks a lot for the prompt insight!
No problem, let me know if you need a video on it, I could knock one out for you in the morning.
