Hey fam! One of the main sections that you will be using in Maschine 2.0 is no doubt the browser.
No matter if you have your own content or if you’re browsing the Native Instruments content, the browser is a central part of the experience.
In this video we focus exclusively on the browser and making sure you fully understand what’s going on in there.
From the tags, to the product banks, categories, browsing history, HD access, and more, we just want to be sure you know what’s what.
Of course as usual, if you have questions, just ask!

Hey joe,
Are all the kits from maschine 1 in here or is it new content only?
If so is there a way to get em in? Thats a lot of content id still like 2 use with the nes version?
Thanks
Mike
Yeah all of the old kits are in the new library as well as new kits, sounds, and samples.
good stuff ,
thanks
Hey Joe!
Have you tried the 2.0 software with your Mk2? I’m not sure about making the move if the layout on the screens had been changed….
Of course I could download and try myself but I don’t want to screw my database if I come back to 1.8… in case I don’t like how it shows up in the MK2.
See what I mean?
Thanks! 😉
Ok! Nevermind! I just found your video about it!
Thanks! You are the man! 😉
Let me know if you have more questions, I did those as previews I need to add them here too, but if you have something specific you want to see on the mk2 let me know and I’ll knock it out. Got a lot of vids I need to upload/post, been busy today with kids halloween and my son’s last football game lol.
Ha! Kids!! 😉 Glad you find the time to do all these videos WHILE having a kid!
So… in fact I have a question! Is your previous tags you made for your sounds still there in the 2.0?
Oh yeah I have an other one : can you record a mono source like a “stereo” source? I mean in the 1.8, a mono source was pan Left or right, I wish they fixed it in the 2.0.
Thanks again!
Yann
We have 3 actually 🙂
Your tags should still work, do an “import 1.x” from the file menu. Mono is true mono now! I love it, I use it for my synths, rhodes, etc. It’s not the “left or right” anymore, it’s actually a mono input 🙂
Hi Joe,
Maybe I missed something, but I can’t set things up for a mono source. (for a guitar with Guitar Rig on top)
What I do is put it to External in the audio tab of a sound. But as there is only Stereo source choice as Input my guitar is panned to left (or right). So further vst sounds panned.
Any clue?
Unfortunately it’s only in the sampler for some reason, not in the sound/group inputs. I’m hoping for a fix in the future!
Haha! What are you waiting for a fourth? 😉
Cool! Thanks for the answers!!
“Maschine 2.0, come to papa”!
g’night!
yann
No way lol, we’re good man, my youngest will be going to middle school next year no need to start over LOL
Big homie, can we drag and drop midi in 2.0 ? From , like studiolinked urban groove machine can do with logic pro ?
yes indeed, check this out https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-drag-and-drop-midi-internally-from-kontakt-libraries/
Hi Joe,
Does Omnisphere, Stylus RMX, Trilian, and other 3rd party VSTis works in 2.0? How do they appears in the browser?
Thanks!
No you can’t import those only Komplete instrument presets. Those you would still have to save on your own.
OK, but they still works right?
Also, if I made “sounds” out of them in the 1.8, will they be imported with the “import 1.x” from the file menu?
Or will I have to recreates those form scratch?
Thanks again!
Yeah, I made a video showing how 🙂

Thanks! 🙂
hey joe, when i pull up a kit how do i keep it from auto populating the kit?
Uncheck the lil icon next to the circle that has pads and midi, that tells it to load the kit with the pattern. Or on the hardware make sure “+pat” isn’t highlighted.
thank u!
No problem!
What up joe? I like to navigate my external hard drive using my computer keyboard arrows and I can scroll and enter folders but what is the keyboard short cut to go back or get out of a folder in the browser?
I’ve tried a bunch of key combinations and don’t see one that actually gets out of the folder, there’s got to be something though. I don’t use the keyboard to navigate folders often, usually just scrolling. I’ll see what I can find out.
Ok preciate it bro
Haven’t been able to find out anything for going back with the keyboard smh
I’ve loaded a lot of my own folders from my hard drive so now I can only see a few files at a time. Is there anyway to resize the browser window or do I need to rethink my imported folder structure?
You mean make it taller? There is really no way to expand it, and it’s also going to be based on your screen resolution as well. So larger screens will see more, or smaller resolution will show more of the software at once, of course going smaller may not be as comfortable as the words will start to get tiny 😉
Hi. I was thinking about getting the 2.0 update but I was wondering if Komplete 8 ultimate is integrated in the same way in the maschine browser as Komplete 9 is.
As long as you have the latest versions of the plugins they will integrate properly.
When I load up Maschine 2 software it says…”A library was not properly installed: Drop Squad” Not sure what to do or how to fix this. Wondering if this is something you could help me fix? Thanks
I would say reinstall drop squad and see if that fixes it
Hey guys, Finally going through this now, as I’ve had my Maschine for like 6 months, but just haven’t had the time/motivation to get into learning it properly. Now ready, but I’m seeing a completely different layout for the maschine software. I attached a screenshot, to show you what I mean. I barely see anything as the same as what you guys are showing, except for the group area, where it has some of the same options. This is especially the case on the left hand side of the user interface (you guys show those little thumbnails, tags, etc, I… Read more »
BTW – My software version is: 1.8.2
This video is for Maschine 2, looks like you’re using verison 1.8
You probably want to start here: https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-101-getting-started/
As that stuff was done with various levels of 1.0 software and will make more sense for you.
Watched and learned.
Cool fam, glad to help
Joe- i am brand new to Maschine and noticed a difference in software. I am using a MAC and I am wondering if thats the reason. If so do you have any tutorials for Mac?
The software is the same on Mac and PC, we do have videos on Mac also. Are you using version 2 or version 1?
