Hey what’s good MT Fam?
Just wanted to share a quick video I posted on YouTube to show how to import third=party Maschine expansions without having to go through the whole rescan process of your user library, which can take forever.
This is how I import any expansion that isn’t an official NI library, works great, and I don’t have to wait for a rescan.
Of course let me know if you have any questions

I recently purchased a 3rd party expansion pack, and I can’t get it to import the full projects. It only imports the drums, nothing else. This video does not work work for 2.0(it seems to be a different layout. Can u help?
Checkout the newer videos for 2.0 on importing
You probably need to do an “import 1.x format”
Thanks for the QUICK reply! I’m new to Maschine, and ur help is much appreciated. I checked out the 2.0 forum, and didn’t find it. Is there a link?

ok so i went here because i couldn’t get my machine expansion lazer dice to show up.. but i quit machine 2 and reopened it and it automatically showed it updating the database as i went into machine 2… anybody else really pleased that machine does this? i find it really simple and straightforward, allows me to skip finding it in machine etc…
All NI plugins should show up automatically the next time you start maschine after you install it. You should never have to find an NI expansion manually.
i feel like a newb saying this but that’s great on their part! good stuff!
I meant to say expansions, but you get the idea. Their stuff better show up with no extra work in their own product LOL….but I understand your excitement 🙂
hey saint joe, so i got my new macbook pro, everything is great besides my machine expansions… only one that shows up is machine and dark pressure… went and found out that the folders for the others only contained sounds, which had nothing in it after i clicked the folder sounds… so i went back and found the folder on my backup, for some reason only in the time machine backup 8-27-14, and “i have about ten backups more current than that one” has the electric vice library with the groups, projects, samples, etc etc that i was looking for that… Read more »
ok so i went to your video on importing mashine 1.x but i didn’t think it could be this because my libraries aren’t from machine 1, they are from machine 2 on my previous macbook… but anyway, i did as the video says and it worked, but now it’s saying it can’t import some files on there… reason being?
Are they NI expansions? If so, I would suggest reinstalling them instead of trying to import them.
yup they sure are NI expansions, electric vice, lazer dice, etc… i just wrote a comment on how doing it importing 1.x format worked but still confused me, because i thought that was only for maschine 1 users… not if you used machine 2.0 on a different mac which i did… i’m attaching a pic to your email to show you what i meant as far it says not able to import certain samples… it’s like it created a duplicate… you’ll see…
You don’t need to import NI expansions, I would remove them from the library and just simply reinstall them so Maschine will find them automatically and everything should work.
oh ok perfect, well i would do that but i think i already got it by importing it, unless you think there’d be errors attached to that… my thing now is getting rid of these extra libraries in grey in the pic i sent you…
I would remove them from the library and reinstall, that should fix all the extra libraries and everything.
ok thanks!
worked like a charm, praise your way boss
Cool man, glad you got it.
Should the maschine expansion packs I buy from NI not show up under the NI Libraries and not the user libraries?
Yes, you don’t have to add them manually in preferences, they get added during the install.
thanks for the quick reply. The first bank I installed didn’t show, but maybe that was because I had maschine 2.0 open during the install. They are all now showing up. On another note. What is Maschine Drum Selection? It shows up under NI Instruments Library and I can use the sounds. But when it is loaded in Kontakt it works but requires activation. Is this something that came with my Maschine purchase and if so what serial will activate it? One more thing, I upgraded my Waves plugins from v9.2 to 9.3 and every time I start 2.0 it… Read more »
You can remove the v9.2 shell from your plugin directory, as for the drum selection it’s a kontakt library you should have a serial number for it. Though you don’t need it really, as it’s just a selection of kits from the Maschine library.
So when importing 3rd party librarys like the Maschine Warehouse stuff. we shouldn’t use the “Import Maschine 1.X format”?
Right, plus they should have instructions in their
My bad…
No need to apologize fam, It’s a good question, can be confusing too.
Just letting you know that sometimes each company may add specific instructions, for example, Maschine Warehouse usually uses alias names, so thats an extra step you’d have to follow and they provide that in their instructions as it will be different for each product.
