Hey what’s good fam, hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
Just wanted to share another tutorial for the entire Maschine community in regards to file/library management and how to get rid of the “missing sample” issues.
This video shows how to use the folder alias function so that you can move folders between drives or even between computers and keep your projects and kits in tact
Man, was I having problems with this missing sample issues. I got a new hard drive and most of my projects kept coming up as “missing files” pain in the a**!!! Will this work just for samples that I sampled into Maschine as if I imported them?
whatever folder you wish to use you can put an alias on it, if you sampled them in, moving them into your user folder should work, but I always suggest saving out the samples you sample yourself into your own sample folder, give it an alias, and that way your projects reference that sample/folder.
However, I also always suggest doing a “save project with samples” any time you have samples used in your project, makes things much easier and you always have the samples right there in the folder with the project.
Yep, that’s the probably homie! I got a bad habit of saving with “save as” not “save with sample” that’s why I’m having these issues. Thanks Excellent!
yeah fam, get in the habbit of doing a “save with samples” I wish we had the preference to save them with samples by default anytime we click save
You know Joe.. I was have a hard job with this sort of thing. You have now reminded me to sit down and get my house in order.
Thanks
great glad to help!
Joe can you make a 2.0 version of this, I didn’t have that version of maschine
Nothing has changed for this in 2.0, the preferences/library tab is handled the same way.
