Hey what’s good fam, back with a creative workflow tutorial for you in regards to using timestretch with your samples in Maschine.
Had some questions about using multiple samples of varying tempos with the timestretch feature, and wanted to make a quick video for it.
This is something that can open up new creativity and ideas as you can mix and match content that you may not have otherwise tried to use together, since it’s so quick to change tempo/pitch of samples now.

Nice video I am so happy that Maschine has it now.
definitely opens the doors of creativity with all the various sample libraries and content out there
I haven’t even started using this feature yet! gotta get on that when I get home. I’m sure it will open up alo tmore possibilities with the track I’m working on right now.
Cool, have fun fam!
Sick Sick, I just started using the timestretch feature and I love it.
Only thing though, is I find that if you’re not using premade loops and ur trying to timestretch your own chops, it doesn’t always seem to work smoothly.
I’m assuming maybe because it’s not detecting the right tempo?
SJ do you think you could maybe do a tutorial on pitch shifting and timestretching together, showing using different samples that are in different keys and how to get them in the same key and tempo to be used together?
Yeah with your own samples, you always want to try and truncate them to proper lenghts, 2, 4, 8, 16 bars, etc, makes it easier for auto detect. Otherwise, I use tap tempo and manually put in the original tempo.
I’ll work on another tutorial for you with different keys, tempo.
Alright good looking SJ,
No doubt
wut up saint joe have a problem finding the time stretch on 1.8 when i put in a sample and go to stretch my drop down part of the soft ware only has {delete recording & open contaning folder every thing else that supose to be there is gone
You have to be in the edit menu, not the drop down for the sample, check this out

Great Video Saint Joe. The creativity now is endless.

Indeed fam, always glad to help!
For some reasons, of all the videos here, I can’t play this one. I only subscribed to this channel just to find the tutorial regarding the tempo change. Can anyone help me with how to use multiple tempo in one song on a Mashine Mikro? Do you have any tips and suggestions to do that? Thank you in advance!
Try clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes it. As for multi tempos Maschine can’t do it, this is about using multiple samples and timestretching them, but you can’t say go from 80bpm in one scene to 95 in the next as Maschine doesn’t currently support it unfortunately.
Ey man, i’m sorry for the very late response and thank you for the reply. Atleast now, I can stop figuring out where ‘tempo change’ is, and try other methods to fit in to my project. By the way, I found my answer here https://maschinetutorials.com/bouncing-your-maschine-tracks-into-sonar-x1/
Thanks again 🙂
Glad to help man
can you also time stretch sampled loops that i grab from vinyl?
You can stretch any audio you want.
Saint Joe I just posted a question Fam…help me out!
how do i simply take any sample and change pitch, but not tempo? I know I can timestretch a sample but to play chromatically at same tempo, how?
Maschine doesn’t have realtime timestretching, it will always change tempo as you play it chromatically. You would have to copy the sample multiple times and change the pitch as you want in order to do what you’re asking. It would be easier to load it into kontakt and use the stretching in there.
@saintjoe can you show how to do this in maschine 2.0 from hardware n software please fam
The process hasn’t changed, it is still accessed from the sample edit tab, but I’ll add it to the list.
