Hey what’s good MT Fam?
Just wanted to share a quick little fun tutorial I made one night while playing around and answering some questions.
This video shows you how easy it is to sample your improvisation and freestyle playing live in Maschine.
Why would you want to do this? Well sometimes when you’re just playing around you come across a nice groove or a “happy accident” that you can’t quite reproduce.
Also I find sometimes capturing things as audio allows you to capture subtle nuances that may go missed via MIDI and sequencing. Plus…it’s just fun!
check it out, of course if you have questions just ask!

I like happy accidents.
Yes indeed brotha

Thanks for watching
DOPE..lol…im about to do this now
HA lol, have fun man!
Hey Joe – whenever I resample to another pad, the new recording is always a lot lower in amplitude than the original.
How do I fix this?
when re-sampling you may have to normalize after, there’s not much control of the re-sample volume
Hmmm…. yeah, I could normalize, but there is one reason I can’t for my purpose:
I’m resampling all my (processed) hits/pads to other pads, which I am then exporting the audio to WAV, which I then import into my Drum Racks in Live.
If I normalise all these resampled pads, then I will lose the relative volumes/balance of all my drum sounds.
I don’t understand why the resample volume would not simply be identical to the source. Can this be changed?
There is no setting for it, we’ve mentioned it before.
Damn SJ – lazer fast, as always!
Thanks for the quick reply. Is this a feature request NI is aware of?
Yep…I am sure NI is aware of that one plus 1000 others..lol. As much as Maschine is an amazing product… there are still some things you have to scratch your head and wonder about. I think having the resample be the same volume as the original is a given. (Should have been there in 1.0)
They definitely know. I think it’s an issue with the sampler in general as anything I sample is always list than the source.
These videos are all so helpful man, thank you for this site!
Glad to help fam!
Great video, saint joe!
