Presonus just released the update for Studio One 2.5 so I did a quick video for the update showing how to track audio live from Maschine into Studio One 2.5
This lets you capture your audio performances, or simply capture your tracks in realtime yet still capture separate audio tracks
man this is excellent. If I have effects on a group and export the individual sounds within that group, will it have the effect on the group buss tracked out?
If you send the group bus out it will, if you use the external outputs then they will no longer be going through the group bus
Kinda figured that….I’ll make it work lol! This opened up a lot a possibilities workflow wise.
I been in Studio One with Maschine again recently, pulled out that Faderport, it’s a smooth workflow. I can record all my hardware smoothly into S1 and use Maschine for drums, chops, or whatever else I want.
Studio One is nice man.
good 1 saintjoe, fast too as the update was just released! This will help with my workflow.
no doubt fam!
track hot mane!
hahahaha, thanks fam!
Man Feel silly asking this but this is what the site is for. By the way great vid fam very usefull. but how do you get s1/2 to stop going all the way to the beginning of ur track when you press stop. is there a pause button that i am missing????
Never feel silly for asking ANYTHING fam, you know that!
It only goes to the beginning if I hit stop twice on my faderport, I just press stop and it stops wherever it is, I don’t press return or the key combo to make it go to the start of the track.
Thanks fam so use to double clicking for every thang 🙂
word man I feel ya!
Hey when it comes to choosing the input for audio tracks it doesn’t let me choose at all. is this because I’m using the producer version?
make sure you’re running version 2.5
Hi
The only issue i have is that ive got the latest version of maschine but there doesnt seem to be CH button next to preset button on the Maschine interface to choose the ouptuts.
i also assign the outputs like the video says but when i press expand to show the output nothing appears!!
thanks
Make sure you are loading the vst and not the au version
try that now
thank you!!
just out of curiosity do you have a video that shows if i drag and drop midi from the maschine au plugin how to create different channels on the mixer to control the different instruments individually as opposed to all on one channel??
e.g like the aux feat in logic
Each midi channel will be separate when you drag it out and the separate audio channels are made in the mixer by expanding and checking them like in this video.
it separates but when expanding nothing comes up for an output
So when you click on expand you don’t see the extra outputs to be able to check them? Also are you using the vst?
problem solved, i thought i had it a a vst but double checked and it worked!!
thank you for your help
Good news!!
GREAT TIP! This is exciting info! Thank you!
No doubt fam!!!
What is the benefit of working with audio as oppose to midi and vice versa? I know you have a video on dragging midi into studio one.
Really just preference, with MIDI you can quickly change arrangements and patterns where audio is more static like a sample so you can manipulate it and do audio edits to it but if you want to change the pattern you’d have to record or drag it out again.
