Hey what’s good MT Family?
Had a request in the forum for a video going over the workflow of sampling from the Maschine Studio controller, as well as navigating the sample, zooming, scrolling, etc.
This is a straight forward video that can be useful for those new to the Studio controller, or if you have the other controllers and you want to see what the sampling workflow is like on the Studio.
Of course if you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

Thanks man! Just got my studio this week. I have to get I to sampling. Figured out the mk2 upgrade process, and I submitted something to Maschine Movement n case anybody wants to know. Planning on joining you Monday and Tuesday…
Always glad to help man!
Are you using a Mac ?
Can I get the audio into Maschine directly from youtube if I’m using Windows ?
I’m on pc, my audio interface head the routing to do it. It’s not built into windows. Am ready way is to get a cable and hook the output from your cellphone into your interface and sample from your phone.
Like iRig or something ?
Just a simple Y cable, you can’t get from radio shack, has a 1/8″ plug on one side and then goes to two separate 1/4″ cables.
alright .. 🙂
thankyouu !
Let me know if you need any help finding which one, or check this out

If your soundcard does have a loopback, you can use a freeware tool.. as long as your recording is not too long.. it works 😉 … but you have to switch between sound cards (the software and built-in/physical one) as this one adds alot of delay on the sounds.. http://www.virtualaudiostreaming.net/ (Used it on my Surface Pro)
Nice one man 🙂
Dope. Man its so many things on maschine. I love being able to highlight the section I want to apply an edit to like you did at 04:30
Word man, that’s definitely a useful feature.
Is there any tutorial on your website that shows how to get your sample chops to fit into a pattern especially if you don’t do automatic chops but your own or transient ones? Or do I just have to go with what ends up fitting in the pattern because I have been struggling with that since it seems like the new maschine 2.0 doesn’t have a time stretch that will allow me to play my sample in a way i can lengthen it to fit a pattern and add my drums to them on tempo in the program. I could… Read more »
The thing with sampling is that it will change from each sample to each track. Your tempo, the original tempo, how you chop it, all matters. There’s an art to taking a sample and making it fit, it’s much easier to do when you’re chopping it up. I rarely auto chop either, mainly go through and adjust the start/end points, but it’s all in how you wish to put it together. I usually end up starting with the sample first if I’m using a sample. I chop it, figure out how I want to play the chops, and then tap… Read more »
Duly noted. Thank you!
No problem man 🙂
Hi Saintjoe.
Do you have a tutorial video that details how to use Maschine Studio to sample directly from your computer. Say for example if I was listening to a song through Real Player or Media Player, how exactly would I set up Maschine to sample the song?
Thanks,
That is dependent on your audio interface, it’s not a Maschine function directly. If you have an audio device that allows you to stream audio between apps it will work, otherwise you’ll have to run a cable from your headphone output back into your audio interface or something. Here’s some general videos that cover the concept Here’s a way to do it no matter what interface you have: https://maschinetutorials.com/easy-way-to-sample-whats-playing-on-your-computer-into-maschine/ Here’s a way if you have an audio interface that supports internal routing: https://maschinetutorials.com/focusrite-sampling-setup-for-youtube-itunes-windows-media-and-system-audio/ An even eaiser way is to sample from your phone or ipod, any music, youtube, or whatever… Read more »
Thanks Saintjo –
All the videos are on point. Got a much better understanding of how Maschine works now. I think the first one will help me best; although I do have a Focusrite interface, it’s the Scarlett 2i4.
Thanks again for your help!
No problem fam!
I had forgot about putting the different takes on the different pads.
No doubt fam!
This video now has an “Unable to resolve the server’s DNS address” error. How can I view/Where can I find this vid?
Thanks, should be working now.
No one ever shows how to properly hit apply and have the sliced samples go to pad 1,2,3,4 etc. Any help?
Hey fam. When slicing click “apply to” and chose group to apply the slices to. It will place them on separate pads. You can also do this from the software https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-how-to-assign-your-chops-to-multiple-pads-from-the-software/
