Hey what’s good MT fam?
Got a question in the forum about working with events using copy and paste from the Maschine Studio arranger screen.
Copy and paste can be a little quirky in Maschine so I wanted to do a video illustrating how to make sure your events end up where you want them to be.
Once you understand how it works, it can definitely speed up your workflow in terms of arrangement and editing your events.

Wass up Saint Joe? I know this question is not related to this tute. Im not sure how to contact you for a tutorial request! Basically Im trying to find out how to route Drum Weapons 3 and Beat Maschine to different channels in maschine, so I have more control over the mix.
Once again sorry to post here!
Thanks Saint joe have a good weekend
No problem man, check these tutorials on routing multiple audio channels, I’ll do one specific to Beat Machine just in case.

Thanks SJ! Much appreciated
Yea, I’m grabbing the mouse. That’s good to know though in case I break my trigga finger.
Hahaha, I feel ya man. Just showing for those that prefer the controller 🙂
What’s good St. Joe! Does this work if you want to copy and paste between different groups? Gonna experiment now :). Thanks fam
Yes, you can copy between groups, just make sure you actually have an active pattern in the new group, and remember it will start at the active pad.
What you call quirky, I call unique. This feature allows one to experiment with placing note events on different pattern sample tracks/lanes, thus providing quick/weird alterations of sound events. I find that cool and thanks for sharing, much appreciated!
Yeah quirky…unique…same thing 🙂 once you understand it, you can use it in many ways for sure!
thank you that wasn’t evident to get understanding in that behaviour ! but now it’s clear for me and usable ! 😉
Glad to help!
Whats going on St.Joe. I had asked this question before but I didn’t subscribe to the post and didn’t get a chance to see the response so I’m subscribing and asking again please bare with me. Ok so say ive built a pattern- kick snare hats vox. I repeated this pattern for maybe 2 or more scenes and now I just want to go back and delete certain sounds to build up from a intro to beat. is there some way to do this. example.first pattern remove the kick sound so it comes in after the intro bar. would hate… Read more »
No problem, I answered it on the original question, you can see it at the bottom of the comments here

Awesome. Thanks
This is helpful, thanks Saintjoe? If you want to copy a whole scene and drag it to another part of the song (a scene further down) do you just hold shift and then left click and drag, or do you press control instead of shift? Question for you joe, do you think Maschine will ever evolve their sequencer to a less rigid format as far as the scenes go? I’ve recently switched over from FL completely because I want to be able to use all of Maschine’s features, but I miss being able to move my patterns around wherever I… Read more »
If you just want to move a scene you can click and drag it. If you want to copy/duplicate you can ctrl+click to drag it.
I would definitely like to see Maschine’s sequencer become more flexible. It’s been a huge request of mine and many others for quite a few years, hopefully we’ll see something sooner than later.
I am trying to use the jog wheel to scroll around in the timeline like you are and nothing happens. It changes tune, swing etc.
You can cycle through those functions with the arrows below the jog wheel, including cycling to where none of those options are lit and it is in the default scrub mode.
Actually just thinking about it more, you should only be able to switch between tune, swing, or volume when you’re touching a pad or group, are these staying lit even when you’re not touching a pad or group?
