Another popular feature of the new Maschine 2.5 update and Maschine Jam is the introduction of performance fx.
A lot of people are interested and/or asking about this so I put together a video to make sure the MT Fam is aware of how they work and how to use them.
Even if you don’t have Maschine Jam, you can still use the performance fx with Maschine Studio, Maschine MK2, Maschine MK1, and Maschine Mikro.
They load at the group level and there are a few different types of fx, all aimed at performance or things you may want to manipulate in real-time.

Having fun with it lol!! I like how they given you a lot of options for automating the performance effects from this controller. It would be amazing if they finally gave in and allowed mute and solo automation from this controller. I can’t wait to try the scene and pattern editing from this thing like you said that’s a huge plus for workflow one that I’ve been waiting for. Who knows what the future holds for the Jam as they continue to update it. I heard they have plans to do some more updates before the year is out.
Yeah bro, mute and solo automation would be dope. However, you can “kinda” do it with the lock parameter now 😉
I heard about that feature but most were saying it’s more suited for live performance. I just got my jam a few days ago so I’m right behind ya baby lol! I’ve been stalking you on the Jam videos ha ha! I also noticed someone made a comment about mute and solo in the forums and one of the moderators said possibly in the future. It’s supposed to be tied into the “songmode” feature which they’re adding on the software side because they couldn’t get it done in time for the release.
At this point it is, but I use it for ideas and also you could in theory record it into a DAW or as a sample in Maschine lol. But yeah, hopefully we see more options for recording this stuff.
Thanks again 🙂
No problem man!
Hi im having trouble exporting my automated perform fx
What are you trying to export exactly? Did you record the fx as automation? Are you exporting the master track or individual sounds?
Hi thanks for responding, yeah i recorded the fx as an automation on my drums and i am exporting individual sounds…im aware if i export as a group it’ll be present but then it restricts when it comes to mixing down
Yeah, you’d have to export it as a group since it is a group level effect.
