Back with another tutorial on tracking out audio from Maschine. This time I’m using Reaper, which is REALLY flexible, straight forward, and lightweight. Not to mention it’s cheap 🙂
I also wanted to kinda show the purpose of these videos on tracking out, so I take a song that just has a basic loop instead of an arrangement, and show sort of the capturing of a performance.
This is where it gets fun, because you then have your performance as separate audio tracks.
Don’t sleep on Reaper…I find it to be one of the most open daws when it comes to routing and flexibility.

I Love it. I see Reaper is very very good at this. Dope. And that beat is so smooth man. Great Vid
You up late son lol, yeah Reaper is really slick at the routing man.
Mixbus is another cheap DAW ($80) thats has alot cool functions. …..yea i know u guys r tired of me pushin it lol but i really think it has potenial with maschine. Only for mac thou still love to see knock try this function in it
Yeah Mixbus is based on Ardour with some special DSP code from Harrison. Similar concept as Reaper as far as the open platform goes. They contacted me a while ago, but…no windows version so I can’t check it out. I’m sure if they have a demo Knock will check it out though.
Whats Up D..I downloaded Mixbus and honestly I cant even get it to play sound. I am still working on it. My initial thoughts are that it sucks…LOL…but thats not fair because thats just frustration talking. I messed with it for like an hour and have yet to get it to play sound. And with me that crazy because 99 percent of the time I can operate a new DAW within 15 minutes. I wont give up though… so look for vid soon (if its able to track out)
Uhhhhh….that’s enough for me lol. If you can’t get it to play sound after 1 hour…no bueno lol.
1 hour and no sound? On a Mac?!!!! Shenanigans!
Yes! Reaper wins for ease in this particular function. I am curious though as to why you used the 32 bit version of Maschine VST. Reaper is 64 bit I thought.
Yeah it does man, really simple.
I used the 64 bit version, the 32 refers to the number of audio outputs 🙂
I think as fast as reaper is FL studio still wins as far as speed in routing…LOL… (laying down bet money)
LOL whaaaaaaaaaat? lol. Did you see everything you had to go through in FL to get stuff routed lol.
Here…open plugin, tracks are routed, set to stereo, record 🙂
But FL is fast too 😉
Nah son NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!! lol.
FL= Open Maschine set the outputs (10 seconds top) Route the sounds you want outputted and click the little disk under each track (5 seconds top)
I saw the video, and I’ve done it lol…it’s a lil involved son. You gotta open the lil wrench lol…THEN you gotta setup the stuff in the mixer….
But again, it’s still pretty fast, but nothing like Reaper. Plus, see the other video, where I save a track template, bam! LOL
BAM son!!! Lol
LOLOLOLOL!!!
Yall crazy lol… I’ll be waitin knock
Whatz good I’m looking at the video on how to track to reaper, but i’m lost with in the first few mins of the video. How did you get maschine to load. When you first start the video, it just shows maschine all ready loaded in the field. but how did you arrive at theat point. what part of the program did you use to gt there.(file, edit, insert. etc…) Also i just down laod reaper,v4.13 and it doesn’t look like anything that the video was made with, as i’m sure that they have updated since then. so please any… Read more »

Is there any way to see the old forums? I dropped off MT for a while and i guess by that time you change a few things aroud Is there away to access the old forums, as i’m looking for the info about thsi program in reaper. I’m trying to do the steps in the new reaper, but i can’t seem to get maschine to open up in reaper. I’m trying to important it as a VI but it’s not finding maschine at all. I know that Nekkon had the info there but i didn’t save it. So if any… Read more »
Nope, old forums gone. What issue are you having loading the plugin? Reaper can read both 32bit and 64 bit so it will not matter which one you have, as long as you have your reaper plugin directory pointed to the proper location you have your vst installed.
ok that might be where the problem is becuse i have scan all the vsts on my computer but it still doesn’t show my maschine any where.
make sure the maschine vst is actually in the folders you’re scanning
ok i’ll try again and report back in about 15 mins. thanks again for your help
nope still no luck. I scan every folder that maschine has and still no luck. i can’t seem to figure out what is wrong.
where is your maschine.dll file located?
i’m not sure but i’ll do a search for it real quick
wow this is crazy, it says there is no file with that name. how is the possible?
ok i found it. I was bug’n thre for a second. whew!! it was on my second hard drive.
word thanks
Cool, it should work now 🙂
.ok going to try again
GOT IT!!! thanks St joe.
