What’s good MT Fam!
Back with part 3 in the Maschine in Ableton Live tutorial series.
I just wanted to show one of the benefits of recording your midi directly into Live instead of in the Maschine sequencer.
Ableton allows you to do quite a bit of stuff to your midi data with it’s midi fx and it’s groove templates.
So this quick tutorial shows how to use the groove templates on your midi data in Live.

Noice!
No doubt fam, thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video sj!
It’s pretty amazing that Maschine doesn’t have more elaborate groove manupulation tools. But it will probably show up in future updates.
And don’t forget that you can easily extract a groove from an audio clip and apply it to other parts of your song.
That would be a great feature in Maschine, since we often sample stuff from differents sources and end up with a kind of groove debate.
But nothing can compete with Reason’s Groove Engine, if you’re into that.
Yeah I’m sure it will come, I actually covered the fact that you can extract your own grooves in the video too 😉
I don’t dig Reason’s sequencer at all, but their regroove engine is dope, I just can’t be bothered to use it, can’t get with Reason man lol.
Oh, sorry I missed that!
Talking about Reason, shouldn’t we have one of those ‘The Best DAW’ threads too? 🙂
feel free to go over to the forum and start one 🙂
Ha ha this tutorial explains a lot about U too me cause I grew up listening to rock and when you tap out your beats they are always really swingin never too straight up. It was the MPC in your blood man, very nice. i like this dual DAW learning stuff as well man! Thanks again!
Ahahaha, yeah man I grew up on mpc, emu command stations, and other drum machines. I’m so used to tapping my beats out a certain way lol, that’s why I LOVE Maschine 🙂
Yo man this isdope I really like using Abelton this way, please keep the Abelton vids comming for sure!
No doubt, bout to wrap it up with the arrangement video.
