Hey what’s up MT fam! Just wanted to continue the Maschine factory FX series so that you’re familiar with all the effects in Maschine and how they work.
In this tutorial I’m finishing up the reverb section with the basic or “standard” reverb module in Maschine.
Again, just want to make sure you’re familiar with the effects, their controls, and what they do to a sound.
If you have any questions of course just ask!

this is a great series…liei kind of knew all of this – but now it’s solidified…
thanks man
always glad to help bro!
Nice tute – although I find the Maschine reverb just a tiny bit simplistic – a pre-delay setting at the very least would give a bit more control. Also, it might be good to do a tutorial on the actual purpose of reverb in context. I get that you are focusing in the function in Maschine, but a bit of info about the uses of reverb I think would help people. I think a lot of beginners (myself included) tend to go overboard with reverb, simply because they don’t understand why it is used, and the simple fact that a… Read more »
Yes it’s very basic, just showing what’s there so people are familiar with it. As for “why and when” that’s still a personal thing and depends on what you’re going for. Some use it creatively and some use it more general where less is better. It totally depends on what you’re using it on and the sound you’re trying to get imo. That’s why I just explained for example what the room does and what the size does, etc.
Cool. I don’t know if there is other scope on the site to do tutorial ‘specials’ on various production concepts and principles that may not be Maschine specific (ie. Reverb/compression/EQ/drum processing/ etc etc) I know that is probably beyond the initial scope of what MT set out to do, but I figure during gaps between releases with new features it might be cool. (Since you’ve probably already covered all the key features in Maschine with your comprehensive archive of tutorials ). 🙂 Ah, you probably have a loooooong list of tutorials to do at MT HQ, so this is just… Read more »
Always appreciate the feedback fam! We have tons of plans for things to do here and what to cover, I’m just very cautious when covering things that I feel are best left to personal tastes/experimentation. I’m more into showing what the canvas and paint is, along with the brushes, as opposed to telling another artists how to paint a picture 🙂 Like I said, it’s just a personal phillosophy really lol But glad you dig the site man, there’s always something to add and I know I definitely have a HUGE list of stuff so even between major updates there’s… Read more »
Yeah, that’s another thing – I’m always amazed by the depth in which you have covered workflows that integrate with a variety of other DAWs – it must be hard trying to accommodate all the different types of technology out there, but you guys seem to have it covered.
Yeah we just try to cover as much about Maschine and how to use it as everyone is different. We just try to make sure the fam understands the technology so that it doesn’t get in the way of them finding the best workflow for themselves.
Only thing I don’t really mess with it Traktor/Maschine as I’m no DJ lol.
Thanks, good info for a beginner. Here’s a questions for you (or anyone, really): I would I got about putting reverb on only a portion of a sound/sample? For example, let’s say I have a vocal sample:”I’m the King of rock, there is none higher” and I want the reverb to only effect the last word, “higher”. Is this possible in Maschine or something better left to doing in a DAW?
Thanks, again.
yeah you can automate it to only come on at that part either by holding the auto write button and turning the knob or by drawing in the automation at the bottom
like this from the hardware https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-1-8-recording-automation-on-the-maschine-mikro-mk2/
or drawing it in like this

Hey saintjoe….trying to automate one snare hit at the end of a buildup. I accomplished that…however the reverb/echo does not carry into the next scene?? How can I make that happen??
Try linking two scenes together to make it stretch over to the next

what about metaverb and iceverb, so many reverbs, lol.
There’s videos for those too 🙂

lol i just didn’t get there yet, thanks!
LOL no problem!
Yo Saintjoe, I have a loaded kit up, i’ve added the metaverb module to make a great bass drum sound, however, i noticed this added the same effect to all the samples in that kit, is there a way i can just add effects to one sample, in this case the bass drum, and keep all the other samples in that kit the same?
Thanks man, this truly is a great site.
🙂
Hey fam, make sure you add the reverb to the sound/pad instead of to the whole group or master
Sweet bro.
