So here’s another basic tutorial on the Maschine factory FX, this one goes over the filter section. The point of this series of tutorials is to make sure you’re fully aware and familiar with the factory tools included with Maschine. I know many will use plugins for effects but for those that want to know everything Maschine has to offer we’re making sure you know all about the factory effects.
Again, it’s not my goal to show you when and where to use these effects, I just want to show you what they do and explain the controls so you can explore them on your own.

Just a couple of questions:
Why use this filter over the built in ones in the sampler?
Secondly, my understanding of a Notch filter was that it is essentially an inversion of the Band Pass filter – ie. if a Band Pass looks like a hill, then a Notch filter is a valley. Is that not right?
You can use the filter fx on not sample instruments where the sampler one is only in the sampler. You can also use this filter on groups, which the sampler module filter can’t be used on a group.
you are correct on the notch, it’s inverted, but it’s also much more narrow than a bandpass usually, if you see it on a graphic eq, the band is a bit more broad usually.
