What’s good MT fam?
After I did a video on using Maschine as a module in Studio One 3, I got a question on how to get your melodies into Studio One if you’ve already done them in Maschine.
Of course MIDI drag and drop is the answer here, and I put together a quick video to show the setup needed in Maschine and S1 to make sure it all plays nice.
It’s a straight forward feature but definitely useful and offers a lot of flexibility for working with Maschine in your host.
As always, if you have questions feel free to ask.

Hi St.Joe. Ive been doing this method in studio one but this is whee I’m stuck:
I have a keyboard playing pattern 1 then a pattern 2. when i drag pattern 1 its fine but when i add the midi for pattern 2 in the same track it deletes maschine and all the previous patterns. is there something I’m missing?
Try dragging the other pattern to it’s own MIDI track. Or dragging it after the current pattern you have so it doesn’t try to replace the track.
it turns out i had to put maschine in keyboard mode first
Ahh got ya, I misunderstood the question. Thought you meant a second pattern for the whole group and not the pattern for the second sound in the group 😉
I need more help St.Joe. So I’m here giving studio one 3 a shot for the past month and I’ve been sitting here for the past 9 hours trying to create a workflow and just trying stuff out- Im stuck with playing midi into studio one for some reason- I’ve been following your most recent video to the T over and over. Group A is playing midi into studio one Group B is playing into Group A and i can’t for the love of god get it to play in its own lane no matter what channel i put it… Read more »
If you have group B playing into Group A then the MIDI is not routed properly. Each group needs to have it’s own MIDI input/output channel in Maschine and in S1 you need to give each track it’s own channel. If you are using keyboard mode then each pad needs it’s own MIDI input/output channel.
You need to make sure you’re following this process https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-3-recording-midi-in-presonus-studio-one-3/
Peace brother. I can’t figure out how to record 32 individual tracks from maschine one into studio one. Can you help a brother out?
Hey fam, I could be wrong, but I don’t think you can get 32 outputs at once, I believe Maschine only has 16 outputs in most hosts (unless you hard pan left/right to split tracks to mono”
But here’s a video on how to track out audio in Studio One https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-3-tracking-out-audio-in-studio-one-3/
