Got a question recently about how to use Maschine as a simple drum module in Studio One 4, so I put together this video showing how it’s done.
This is for those that want to use Maschine with other MIDI controllers, via grid programming, or just want a simple way to trigger Maschine from its own controller without having to route MIDI from the plugin, into the daw, and back to the plugin.
*Watch instantly when you join today!I also show how to route to different audio channels if you want to process your sounds separately.
If you want to double check, I’ve included a basic Studio One project with the setup so you can see how it is configured.
This gives me an idea to use Serato Sample loaded in Maschine as a module to be sequenced in Studio One.
Hahaha, word! Curious what you think would be the benefit of going that route vs just opening Serato directly in Studio One? (I don’t really use either so I’m curious lol)
This way you could use Maschine’s knobs to control the parameters within Serato. That way you can use your mouse less when editing the samples.
Ahhh ok, gotcha, that makes sense bro!
Thanks! I haven’t took the time to route Maschine in studio one in years. This makes it so fast! Could you do a video routing battery and Konstantinos in S4 to work with Maschine? Thanks
Glad to help! Not sure what you mean about Battery, you can load it in Maschine as usual, you’d just trigger it as an instrument instead of a drum kit because it would be laid out on one pad. So you’d have that pad an input channel and trigger that way.
Is there a way to do this and still have transport control?
If you’re in MIDI mode you will not have control over Maschine’s trasnport.
