We had a request on understanding how to record scene changes via MIDI in Logic.
This allows you to go in and capture your scene performance after you’ve already created multiple scenes, and it’s a good way to layout your song structure.
In this video Knock shows how to setup the scenes to be triggered via MIDI in Logic X as well as how to customize your controller template to trigger the scenes.

Nice!!!! You just gave me several ideas at once.
Thanks Knock.
My pleasure MG !!
Wow, this is insane !
Thx so much KS !
Btw: May i ask which type of headset you use ?
Your voice through that mike sounds neat !
ROB…so sorry for late reply. I wear these http://www.guitarcenter.com/Shure-PGA31-Performance-Headset-Condenser-Microphone-110180874-i3709500.gc
now you may have thought that the headphones I was wearing and the mic were connected but they are not. I am just putting my headphones on OVER the headset mic because I needed what i heard to be in stereo.
How do gents, quick question for you:
Is it the same setting up maschine 2 to record scenes in logic 9?
Would be really helpful to know as I like the idea of working like this but I’m not likely to go to logic x anytime soon.
Cheers and thanks for all the great info.
Yeah the process is going to be the same for the most part. Here’s an older video that may help.

I gone through the video sometime last month, and made a template out of it. Tonight, I had time to get a little deeper by recording my performance via realtime multiple audio tracks (from another cool tut from Knock). After working out this and figuring out there and some trial and error recording, I’m really digging the possibilities. I’m still going to experiment with this before actually using it for projection, but this is ingenious. Thanks, guys!
Cool bro!
hi, i would like to use maschine standalone, or as a plugin, although prefer standalone but anyway here is what i want to do, i use logic pro x and in there i have vocals and guitar set up, is there a way to route the main output from maschine straight into a track in logic? so i could then record live by hitting play on maschine or someone playing live pads while i play and sing? i’m not fussed to have multiple tracks for all the different drums etc i just want the all the sounds coming from maschine… Read more »
Excellent video thanks so much – BUT……… For some reason i can’t get logic to record the scene changes. I have it all set up exactly as you said – it might be a setting in logic that’s wrong?
Rob… can you check to see if Advanced midi is selected. Go to Preferences>Advanced Tools>click the “advanced” tab then make sure Midi has a check mark next to it. Let me know if you have this selected
Got it!! That was it, amazing – this is going be a game changer for me. Thanks so much, this site is the bomb.
Great 🙂
LIFE SAVER AND WORKING IN PROTOOLS!!!!!
YESSS !!!
Word my brotha!
I created a multi in the environment and linked it to a multi-output maschine channel strip. However, when I create the external midi channel, the multi does not show in the library. Advanced midi is enabled.
Any ideas?
