Hey what’s good fam!
Got a new tutorial for today for those that want to record more of a linear style of automation in Maschine.
Even though Maschine is mainly pattern based, there’s actually a really easy way to record automation across multiple scenes and patterns.
I show you how to do it in this video, hopefully it opens up some creative ways of recording automation for those that weren’t aware!

Can you not record automation from the hardware using the Maschine Mikro?
Thanks for the amazing tutorials and guides!
Yeah you can, you’d just have to use the single knob, and set it on whatever parameter you wish to automate.
I have not been using this option in automation, will definitely have to explore it. Thanks for pointing out this option.
No doubt fam!
….and Still……..the greatest tutorials on Maschine goes to you guys. I’m definitely going to take your premium courses.
Salute fam, thanks for watching and for the continued support!
Quick question. Do your patterns still have to be different in order for this to work? In others words if you had the same pattern in Scene 1 and 2, would the automation work then?
In that situation, that would be the same pattern, so you’d want to duplicate that pattern and put it in another scene in order for this to work.
Hello,
I’ve been trying to do it exactly as shown on the video but what i’m struggling with is – let’s say i have 4 scenes one after another in arrangment view, all with unique (but same) pattern. The moment I stop turning the automated knob and move to another pad automation, when the next scene starts, it resets the 1st automated knob to its preset value. Can you help with this one? Cheers!
In other words, this solution seems to work for me only if at the moment of switching scenes, the knob is being turned.
Yes this is correct, if the knob isn’t moving it will just start from default in the next pattern unfortunately, until NI allows more flexible automation this is what you have to do.
