For those that have been in the MT fam for a while, or even if you’ve seen me around the net over the years, you know that audio loop recording is something I’ve wanted in Maschine since it first dropped in 2009.
I’ve tried many different workarounds, and even with the audio module addition I got a little close, but it just wasn’t quite there. Well, with the latest update Native Instruments added the ability to record loops directly. So that means you can record a loop of whatever length, and it will automatically be placed into an audio module and play back once done.
Seems simple but trust me for those who like to capture audio and external sources this is a great addition. I hope they continue to develop it.
If you haven’t downloaded the update yet it’s sitting in Native Access (not sure how long it’s been there, but I just installed it today)
As usual, let me know if you have any questions.

Saintjoe, thanks for this video, I am trying to record a voice loop, it is an recording of my inhale and and an exhale, I am encountering a constant break up in the loop when it restarts, I just can’t figure out how to make it loop smoothly. I have re- recorded over 100 times, to try an match the bars, without luck, I am hoping that there is a workaround which I don’t, hope you understand what I mean 🙂
What do you mean by break up? Are you recording to the metronome? Are you recording for a set loop length in loop mode?
Hey Saintjoe, thanks for your reply. It is a bit hard to explain through text :), I have just made a video instead. Please if you could watch it and let me know. Many thanks my friend. Check it https://youtu.be/LXOJYf8txqc
Oh actually after I made the video, I tried to change the BPM of the recording to 110, as that is the range of my breath, and it is my much better now, but still aint perfect.
I was just going to suggest the bpm. Are you recording to the metronome/click? It could simply be that you need to record to the click, to stay on tempo properly.
