Another one of the big additions in the Maschine 2.2 update is the inclusion of a new Arp mode.
This is the same arp that is available on the new NI keyboards, but it’s directly inside of Maschine.
Like the new chord feature, you can only use the arp with the Maschine pads or with one of the NI Keyboards, it doesn’t work with an external MIDI controller.
It’s pretty straight forward and a cool way to come up with some new ideas.
As always, feel free to ask questions if you need.

Great site and tutorials. I have just joined after seeing you tutorials on Maschine 2 2 pup-up after the official NI video on the new features of 2.2.
The site is just what I’ve been looking for since get my own Maschine a week ago.
Can’t wait to start working through each of them.
Hey man, welcome, make yourself at home! We keep it very relaxed here, anytime you have a question just ask. We have a lot of content on the site, but also a forum and these posts where you can ask specific questions. If it’s something you need a video for just let us know 🙂
I’m back saintjoe!!!! Thanks for the tuts. I’ll eventually ask a question 🙂
Glad to help fam!
Best site for maschine education welcome paul
Thanks for the support fam!
Cool. I’ll take my time. I expect a lot of the things I need are somewhere already on the site. I’m not really new to music but I have been slowly trying to produce for the last thre years. Since Korg released the iMS20. That brought the past desires to own a I had in the late 70’s flooding back. I then got a Mac and finally Logic. Step by step I understand a little bit more but I couldn’t get anything into Logic that worked for me. Maschine is finally allowing me to get beats and melodies etc down.… Read more »
Cool man, well, don’t be ashamed if you have questions, we don’t look down on anyone here, no matter how simple you may think it is, I’m sure someone else may have the question too!
Main thing…have fun!
Damn! Own a synth.
Ahahaha, I got it 🙂
Actually I meant to say: that back in the 70’s, when I was only in my second decade of life (10-13) I so wanted a synth line the Moog Modular or any Korg model.
When I started seeing sequencers and synths on the iPhone and then iPad. I knew the time had come that I could try my hand a creating music. Particularly synthetic music.
Yeah I hear ya man, I use the iPad a lot actually, I have it setup as an external synth with a dedicated controller. So I use some of my favorite apps that way, I just record them into my track as audio 🙂
The arp mode could do with a few more modes as like in BPM.
I’d like to see the ability to edit the arp sequences directly or create your own as well.
I agree, so the only way it could be done at the moment is recording the sequence then editing it in the piano roll right?
Yeah, but I want to see a dedicated arp page that actually shows the steps of the arp so we can edit that even before recording midi. Like most software arps have these days pretty much…not sure why they didn’t do that!
Great video Saintjoe! Hopefully in future updates we can arp drums
Yeah, I feel it should just be a switch in note repeat and they should let us use it with whatever we want.
are you absolutely sure you can’t arp drums? like of you set a tom or snare into keyboard mode, or a sample chopped up and spread over the 16 pads, it can’t be arped? Many thanks for another great video St. Joe!
Yes, you can do it in keyboard mode, I’d just like to see the option the same as note repeat, so we don’t have to put a drum into keyboard mode to use the arp.
I’m watching your vids to make sure I know all these new features, good brother:) Appreciate what you do!
Cool man 🙂
Mr. ELLIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Bows Down)
saintjoe I cant figure out how to make the chord thing work properly in Mikro 2.2 like you showed…as in hitting one pad and it plays that chord per the key/scale its in….does Mikro do that too?
Yeah, when in keyboard mode you use the right arrow to navigate over to scale, then use it again to get over to chord mode, there you can turn it on or off
thanks I was looking for that…:)
No problem fam!
