Hey what’s good MT fam!
This is a video for the Studio One users trying to record MIDI live into the S1 sequencer.
The Maschine 2.2 update makes the routing a bit easier and not so much of a pain.
So if you prefer to sequence in S1, this is for you. Luckily, S1 makes it very quick to bounce midi to audio in place so you don’t even have to worry about audio routing if you don’t want to.
As usual if you have questions feel free to ask.

Hey what’s good! Can we do the same with logic
No, Logic doesn’t support this type of routing between tracks from plugins so it won’t work this way.
Ok thanks!
No problem man!
hey saintjoe,
Ive been waiting for this tutorial with the new updates. Is there a way i can have access to it for just this single video segment? Perhaps just pay for this one video instead of monthly subscription. I would subscribe again for the monthly fee but I won’t be needing any other videos other than this one. Let me know man thanks.
We don’t have a way to sell access to a single video, you can subscribe and just cancel before 30 days if you don’t want to stay subscribed.
Yea ill do just that. Thanks my dude!
No doubt fam
Hey saint Joe I need some help, This tip works well, however, Im having difficulty separating the midi within studio one. When i record midi and add to the arrangement with more sounds from maschine and a new group with the respective channel, (ex: group c would be channel 3 if i were to continue from where the tutorial left off), plus add a new track in studio one with the input and output of the track to channel 3, I am able to see the midi events on the arrange view of studio one , but when i click… Read more »
As long as you have specific MIDI channels designated it shouldn’t do that. Like on your midi tracks you should have only the channels you want to receive from and for the Maschine plugin, you should pick only the channels you want to receive from, as well as setting only the channels you want to “send to host” from the pads.
Glad to be a new member man! I have a situation that I’m sure is user error, as all of mine usually are, but if you could help me get it straight I would appreciate it. When I open S1 Professional, Version 2.6.5, I can see Maschine listed as a VST in my instruments. However, when I drag it into the arrange view, the hourglass symbol just parks itself there, and never opens up at all, no matter how long I wait. MK 2 works great as a standalone, and Massive opens just fine in S1, but not MK 2.… Read more »
Doesn’t sound like anything you’re doing wrong. I’d make sure both S1 and Maschine are up to date, if that doesn’t work I’d remove the maschine plugin from your plugin folder, rescan plugins in S1, then add it back and rescan again. If that doesn’t work try installing the latest Maschine update again to update the plugin file.
Yo whats up Sj, its been a while whats good? I have a problem with this in the new studio one version 3. I have been using 1.8 still in s1 because i didnt understand all the new routing in mk2. But now in the new version of studio one its all diffrent as well. Idk if you have the new version 3 yet but maybe you could download the demo and check out the routing and help me out. Like I said ive been using 1.8 and I feel lost with all this and I cant get Maschine routed… Read more »
