I’ve got something for the Bitwig users, or those that are curious as to what you can do in Bitwig.
In this video I show how to use the new MIDI options of the Maschine 2.2 update to allow realtime recording of MIDI directly into Bitwig.
It’s very smooth to setup and I also show how to quickly route your multiple channels of audio as it’s very fast to do that as well.
Of course as usual if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I m currently trialling Bigwig so this really helps – on another note ( not sure where to post this) – would you happen to have patch files for the mv 8000 / 8800 converted for use in maschine – i had an mv but sold it and now really want to be able to use the factory patches (.mv0 files). The only option i have found so far is chicken sys but seems a lot as this is the only thing i would need it for ?
cheers

Nope, Chicken Sys is the only way I know of the convert them, I don’t know if he ever added Maschine format or not though, I know we talked about it a few years ago.
Hi SJ,
I am a bit confused with the midi routing here. So far it works great with kits but I can’t get instruments played in Maschine to record in Bitwig. Ideally I would like to export all my midi patternes from Maschine to Bitwig then build my song in the daw.
Any chance you could explain that workflow -if possible- ?
Thanks for the great work you are putting in this site. Happy to support it !
Alexis
It’s pretty much the same setup with one change, instead of doing “sounds to midi notes” and giving the whole group a midi input/output channel, you’ll want to give each individual pad it’s own midi channel when using instruments, that way you can use keyboard mode to send the full range of notes from that pad. The midi routing would be identical except it would be just for a single pad instead of the whole group.

Thank you so much ! I got it working! I missed the whole part where midi output goes to channel one.
No problem!
