This is a follow up to the video on how to import third party kontakt libraries into Maschine 2.0
This quick video shows how to make your own custom graphics and where you need to put them so they show up properly in Maschine as well as on the Maschine Studio
Now for those that want to do this, I’ve made a template folder with the proper files you would need to edit.
However if anyone in the fam wants a specific product done let me know and I will create it for you

Yo!!!! So sick. I love little hacks like this. Why is the Stim Pack the only drum kit though? LMAO!
Only one I did LOL
LOL Smh
I don’t import a lot of drums man lol, I just use the file window lol
It’s funny that’s it’s the boobs one that you happened to import lol
Hahahahaha, well Maschinestrument didn’t have any drums and I didn’t have dystopia artwork on hand LOL. Plus I figured flux would like it, since I also just did a review of that kit that I’m posting….shameless promo I guess LOL.
Shameless indeed lol
Excellent video though lol
Hahahahaha
My wife will be so proud 🙂
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome!!!! I gotta go give this a try 😀
Thanks fam, you the man!
Have fun bro!
We all know why its the stim pack he did…. 😉
Shameless promo for flux lol
I can’t seem to get kontakt, massive, reactor, 60 vintage library, mark scabee, prism, none of these work in my software if I try to use them it says can’t load 1 or more plugins, there plugins don’t work. No sounds. But all the maschine 2 library seems to work? This ison my Pc windows 7 Weird thing though installed the studio and software on my Mac mini 6.1 and everything works, all the plugins, sounds I don’t undstanding why it works n one operating system but refuses to work in my pc. Please he’ll me solve this issue I… Read more »
You have to go into your preferences and tell it where to look for your plugins https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-understanding-the-preferences-menu/
I do bu tlikei said if I try to load the plugin it says can’t load 1 or more plugins?
I’ve tried preferences and rescanning plugins and the libraries but nothing , should I uninstall the whole thing and install it again? I’m so confused cause my mac installed everything with no issues and everything was installed and works flawlessly.
Why is my pc so difficult to work with?
Cheers medical mark
Check to see if you using 32 bit or 64 bit, click the NI logo in the right, that will make a difference as to which plugins you need to point to.
I gave it a few try’s lol I tryed not kontaktplayers though but the expansions from flux and william. So im gonna do a request like you said in the vid that we could do that if it was to complicated or whatever. Well i dont have a lot 3th party kontakts but i do have a lot of other user content. My request is , can you make a few for the expansion packs from the fam i just named? Or a vid on how to do the samples perhaps cause i cant figure this out and would be… Read more »
The third party expansions don’t all show up like this, mainly just in the sample tab that’s why.
So how do i get them pictures to show up in the sample tab?
same way as this video, just do it for whatever sample/folder you want to see
Okay , this looks far more nicer in my samples 😛
Thank you sir! Awesome!
Hahahaha, cool.
I decided to try this for third party vsts like Arturia, and fab filter but im not sure i really understand how to.As far as logos for my sound kits and samples i got that down…but logos for my vstis im a little confused.
The process is the same for VST just make sure you name everything properly

Do i need to import Omnisphere into the user section of All Instruments or something, because I followed the steps in the video and downloaded the files but nothing happens.
Never mind about that I got it to work, I had to move the Omnisphere folder out of the MStudio folder.
Cool, glad it worked for you.
I’m clearly missing something! 🙂 I have the template files, now how do I add my images to them?
All in the vid, you have to create pictures that are the size of the templates and name them as suggested.
I’ll look again I guess I did miss something.
You need to make the images in the same dimensions as the template files, then name them according to the product and put them in the proper folder.
I looked again. What I did was open up my images in Mac Preview and changed all the dimensions to that of your template files and then i saved them with that same name of your template files. Went to maschine, rescanned, and the images still don’t pop up.
I’m doing it for Big Fish Audio’s Trap Bangerz. What am I missing?
Did you put them in the right location? Certain ones need to have the name of the product also. And it has to be a kontakt player library.
It’s not Kontakt player; it’s for the full version of Kontakt. It’s Trap Bangerz by Big Fish. I’ma just stop getting caught up on aesthetics…but it’s so annoying. lol
Yeah, images only work for kontakt player products.
Hey man. Thanks for this. I followed all your instructions, re-sized images, named the .meta file etc double checked everything and put the folder in the Mac HD/Users/Shared/NI Resources/image folder. I even rescanned it in Maschine preferences. But it didn’t work. Please advise. It’s for Heavyocity’s DM-307 library – so it should work… Thanks.
With some names, if they have special characters in it, it will not work as Maschine won’t recognize the images. I’ve seen this happen with ! so it’s possible the hyphen could cause it. As it has to be entered exactly the same way as the product appears when imported into Maschine.
That did it! All sorted. You rule. Thanks, mate.
No problem!
For anyone else reading this and trying to do custom images for Heavyocity’s DM-307… not only do you need to take out the hyphen, you also need to make it one word, i.e. DM307 when naming items.
Yep, main thing is just to see how Maschine shows it when imported and match that 🙂
Hey man, me again. Did you say it’s NOT possible to add custom images to non-Kontakt player libraries? For example Hybrid Two’s “Project Bravo” – when I import it, it is labelled with the generic “Kontakt” icon. Is there any way of renaming this Kontakt icon and giving it unique custom images, or is the only way of organising these libraries by tagging alone? Thanks again.
Only Kontakt Player libraries will show up with their proper name, the rest will show up under the general Kontakt icon/bank. There is no way to change this. Probably because player libraries are encoded the same way as NI libraries and appear as actual products.
What a shame. Thanks anyway. Great site by the way. Really useful…
Good and clear video on how to add your own images for individual plugins. How do I do this for plugin developers? Right now I’m having custom images for Omnisphere and Trillian – but the image for Spectrasonics is a generic plugin icon.
/C
It’s done the same way, just instead of naming it after the plugin, you’d name it for the developer. So your folder would be Spectrasonics, and the meta name would be Spectrasonics. For the graphics you’d use the vb_artwork image and mst_artwork image.
Thanks. Looks great now!
/C
No problem!
Yayyyy it worked. I did this for Imogen Heap’s Box of Tricks and at first I saved it as SC Box of Tricks, but nothing happened. Then I realised Maschine read it as only Box of Tricks so I renamed the folder as such in NI Resources Image folder and voila, it worked a charm. Thanks so much for the tutorial. The only thing that was a little unclear was when you imported the folder into your User Library. The “camera” didn’t follow you down to “add folder” so I had to watch it a few times before I realised… Read more »
Glad you got it working 🙂
