So if you’re like me, you saved a lot of sound or module presets in Maschine so that you could have a bunch of third-party presets directly in your browser.
Stuff like Trilian, Sylenth, Nexus, or many of the other plugins that we like to use. Well in this tutorial I want to show you how to import all of those presets you’ve taken the time to save so that they show up in the Maschine 2 browser properly.
I know for me, a lot of what I saved were Kontakt libraries…so now that we can import those directly I may or may not use this method for those. The only reason I still would is for the tagging I did on them.
Anyway, if you have questions just ask!

Hi SaintJoe!
There is some Kontakt Libraries from 3rd parties, that seems to not be able to be imported like Nitron, SC Novachord, or Ondes. Presets from theses Libraries (which appears in Kontakt) are simply not in Maschine. Do I need to refresh the Kontakt Database, then re-add them in the Preferences in Maschine?
Thanks!
No, they should show up, they may not have a “bank” name, but they should be under the kontakt bank.
I searched everywhere for this but how do you load a VST such as Sylenth1 into Maschine? I can’t find a tut on this anywhere.
Do you mean just loading the plugin or the presets? You can’t import the presets you would have to save them one by one in Maschine, if you mean just loading the plugin, make sure you’ve added the location in the plugin preferences and that you have it checked in the manager.

I’ve already done the scan for them. I want to know how, once they are there, you load the VST. Like I want to use Sylenth1. My scan folder sees it. So how to do I bring that VST into maschine, or can I?
Load it from the plugin tab

I can’t see the video for this. 🙁

No prob!
Hi Saintjoe
I’ve been having an issue with VST’s. If I create a song using a sound from a VST like Synopsis Dune and save the song, when I open the song the sound is no longer there. I have to reset the sound bank in the group in maschine and them load the VST and load the sound again.
If even happens if I use Reason as a VST a well.
This was happening to me in Maschine 1.8 and then I updated to 2.0 and the same thin is happening.
I can’t find a fix anywhere.
I believe it has to do with how some plugins present their presets, residuals if the use banks. That’s something NI would have to fix.
Would the steps of importing your sound and module presets from third-party plugins as mentioned in this video resolved that issue? If so do you know how to do so for Synapse Dune?
I think it’s simply a matter of how maschine recalls plugins that use banks, I’ve always had issues with that as well with stuff like Rob Papen, etc. Now, you could try saving the presets you used as maschine sounds and see if they recall properly.
Was your workaround to save the presets as maschine sounds for your plugins that use banks?
It was hit and miss, honestly I stopped trying to use plugins with banks because I got frustrated with how they worked in Maschine, or I would just use the main banks only.
hey I’m so new to macshine …..coming from reason 5,logic pro 9,and pro tools 9 le….i have plugins that i still use in logic like ,gladiator 2,nexus,sylenth,and electraX,and a lot of waves plug ins that i still use in protools 9 le…..how do i get all to show in machine 2.0….and for the life of me.. i don’t get the stand alone player thing of massive, prism, reaktor outside of using their sounds in machine 2.0 or logic pro 9 for the matter…..lastly, i can’t seem to load up my scarbee 1 presets…that came with”komplete selection” when a purchased the machine… Read more »
You want to setup your plugin directory in preferences by adding the folder your plugins are in, then you can rescan and check the plugins you want to use

You can also watch this one as well https://maschinetutorials.com/how-to-load-komplete-elements-in-maschine-1-6/
i assume you have to be very transparent with the tags saved previously in whatever 3rd party so that the associated tags show up then under the machine browser right? like for trillion?
If it’s your own tags you can save/tag them however you want, just be mindful of the factory tags if you don’t want them to mix.
ok thanks bro!
No problem fam
Hey saint joe been a fan for a few years and I think this a great service. My question is this. how do i get presets/sounds from Trilian, Nexus, etc. into maschine if I have never saved any presets into maschine in the first place, so far Iv’e saved a few one at a time. Is there a way to do it like importing 3rd party kontakt libraries?
Yep, you’d have to manually save them one at a time. I do have some that I’ve done over on maschinepacks.com, MT members get a discount. (code in the deals section)
I know i have purchased Velvet and Nexus already and the free Hybrid 3
Cool, thanks! In that case you already know the answer, gotta do it manually as you said, there is no bulk import currently.
I have another question if you don’y mind saintjoe. In regards to plugins like ez keys, trilian, neo soul keys (Steinbergs) etc that dont have normal library paths. like trilian’s steam folder. my question is where do you tell Maschine to look for these libraries/presets
You can’t import any of those libraries into Maschine, including the STEAM folder. the only way you can get presets from your plugins into Maschine is the manually save them as Maschine sounds. This video is dealing with presets that people saved in Maschine 1 and want to bring them into Maschine 2.
What I’m really talking about is being able to put images in the browser, as I have already started the process of saving them as Maschine Sounds. Bass Legends (Trilian), EZ Keys etc. I have done all artwork/logo steps, tagged and organized them and everything else but I still get plugin icon. What am I missing. BTW I have done quite a few that were 3rd party kontakt and maschine expansions that show up fine.
You can import your images for plugins as well as kontakt libraries

hey st joe! i don’t know if this issue has been raised, but how do you import multiple sound modules from the same vendor, ie rob papen for predator, subboombass, etc. I want to set it up like you did for the AIR products.
thanks fam
Any presets from the same company will always be grouped together, but it depends on the vendor, like RP for example, all of his plugins aren’t coded the same, some are Rob Papen and some are RPCX which is the new name he’s developing all of his plugins under. So you’re pretty much at the mercy of the developer in terms of how they set the code in their plugins.
quick question saintjoe. Do you have any Tone 2 plugins in your Maschine setup and if so what do you type in the image folder Tone2, Tone2.com or something else to make the images show up in the browser. thanks fam
I haven’t done any of those yet, but it would be whatever shows up when you save a preset from Tone2
the presets are saved! what i’m talking about the images. If I Put Trilian in I have to name the folder Spectrasonics in the image folder. same for Addictive drums the folder is named XLN. The browser shows the plugins in there under the product name Tone2.com. I can’t see it being Tone2.com.meta. I hope this makes it clearer what I’m talking about
I know exactly what you’re talking about. My answer is still the same. Some names don’t work when they have special characters like a period, exclamation points, etc. So that may be your issue.
Gotcha! Thanks
I don’t get it, how is a module preset different, or should I be asking what is a module in
this application?
Module is like the device that is loaded on a pad, for example, NI calls the sampler a sampler “module”.
