So after I posted the video yesterday about importing user kits and samples in Maschine 2.0, I got a lot of questions about why it wasn’t working with expansions that use an alias.
Currently there seems to be a bug with this type of import, but there is a way to actually get it working properly
You have to add it to the library, add the alias, and then do the 1.x import for it to work all the way.
Hopefully they get this fixed so we can only import once, but for those with a bunch of expansions this will get you going
Hi SJ,
Trying to add my Aston martin as described but keep getting the following message:
Duplication Location
An entry with the same location already exists in the Library. Please choose a new location.
This happens even when i copy the folders to a new drive. How do I get rid of this please.
My user locations is blank so why can’t I add this to my user locations?
You may have to trash your db file, are you on a mac or pc?
I’m on the Mac. How do I trash the DB?
In application support there should be an NI folder, in there should be a Maschine 2 folder. Inside that folder there should be a db3 file, if you delete that maschine will have to rescan everything again and it should get rid of the lingering AMM data
sorry bro, I can’t find a db3 file anywhere.
I have searched everywhere I don’t see a DB3 file. Is there something else i can do
Did you ever find that file? I looked on my mac but didn’t see it, though I know it’s there but maybe it changed locations in the new Mavericks OS.
Cant find it anywhere. Still Cant add user locations even after the latest update 2.02
You can’t add anything at all?
Ok, you motivated me to try again. I went into my preferences and removed my contents and library plist and now I can add. wohooo!!
Nice 🙂
One thing I do need to ask though is was the 1.5 Library merged with the 1.8 when 1.8 was released? I am asking so that I don’t duplicate Librarys
Yeah it’s all in there, everything is actually in the 2.0 library now.
Great Stuff! its about to go down. I feel like Walter White. I am ready to Cook.
do you think this same db file my have prevented me from saving my custom kits? I’m on windows 8
I doubt it, you could always remove it if you want and start over but I don’t think it will matter.
I do this. Using Pc. And everytime it tells me user directory cant be found so then I locate it and all that but get no sound. It worked for me once doing it this way but then on my third expansion it does this. So I start over and now it does it on every one each time. No sound, no user directory path. When I think I got it figured out its one more thing complicating everything. :/
I don’t think you are doing anything wrong, there is obviously a bug here as we shouldn’t even have to do it this way, it should just work by importing once. Hopefully they fix it soon so we don’t have to mess with these workarounds. I believe the Maschine Warehous is updating all of his products to avoid this issue, not sure if you use them but if so it may offer some hope 😉
Yup, boss of the trap, west coast synths, lowrider weather. Its irritating because if I pull up a project from 1.8 I can use em with no problem. Like I said, I did it once thgis way got boss of the trap and Lowrider weather working then on west coast synths it does this. Driving me crazy man. lol
Yeah I feel you man…it does suck for sure.
im so frustrated right now lol it keep saying wrong user path
What product are you trying to import?
where can i get third party extensions??
Places like maschinewarehousekits.com have a bunch, other than that, places like loopmasters.com
Do I have to close Preferences once I have added a Library and add and alias, or do I have to Rescan, and then close and add via 1.1 format?
Thanks
Just rescan and you should be done, no need to add 1.x if it’s made for Maschine 2
Saw your video on the new Hello Samples expansion, looked so dope I had to cop it. Great videos as always man. Problem is I’m having the same problem as most with opening any of the the chord volumes, Slo Fi Sessions and Smokers Delight. I tried doing everything the way you suggested, but I think maybe I’m linking the packs from the wrong location or wrong Alias name? Can you tell me exactly which extensions you are using for your user library for both the Hello Samples and the Raw Cutz kits, and the alias names for the RawCutz… Read more »
When I use an alias I use whatever is in the install instructions, however a lot
of times I just import the kits themselves and not all of the samples. So I have
to do an initial “search for missing samples” but once I do it for 1 of them the
rest show up.
I had the issue of “one or more plugins could not be loaded” and I reinstalled everything on my mac>Applications>Native Instruments folder. Now All of my expansion kits and third party expansions kits cant be located. The Maschine app will not let me place the location of the files in the Library and says “Duplicate Location. And entry with the same location already exists int eh library…..”
You can reset your entire database, for the record, no need to reinstall when you get a plugin error, you just need to make sure the plugin is active in your preferences
Mac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Maschine 2
There should be a komplete.db3 file in there, delete that and let it rescan everything then you should be good to go, it should pick up all of your installed content.
Still doesn’t work. I called Native and they told me to do the same thing. Maschine App is trying to make me locate every single sample.
Did you check your preferences to make sure it’s pointing to your proper libraries?
it won’t allow me to change anything because I originally selected the parent directory. They just told me I pretty much have to dump everything again. article KB413
What parent directory did you select? Maybe it’s different on Mac, I know I can go in and point to my different library locations if I need to, for example, if I move it or something.
Mac>Applications>Native Instruments. So now it won’t let me change anything for example to Mac>applications>Native Instruments>Platinum Bounce……. or anything else. It just gives me the error message that an entry of the same location already exist.
Hmmm, weird, definitely not the same on windows, I can just change it to wherever I want.
