One of the things that was removed in Maschine 2.0 is the ability to save and browse your patterns from the browser.
I know alot of people used this feature to create ideas and song starters that they could quickly recall later.
Well, even though we no longer can save actual “pattern files” there’s still a way to work with your ideas and use them with various projects and groups
In this tutorial I show you a workaround that you can use to make it easy to build up your own pattern library that you can quickly access no matter what project you’re working on.
As usual, if you have questions feel free to ask!

I was buggin out about this. Needed that one man.
Glad to help
Nice work around!
glad to help fam!
Perfect! Was just trying to figure out how to save patterns over the weekend. Thanks SJ!
glad to help fam!
Nice workaround – but this cant be browsed and loaded via the hardware. 🙁
SJ – do you have any word from NI as to whether or not they will be bringing back Pattern loading functionality? I’m one of those guys who spent a huge amount of time building a pattern library – and would use it pretty frequently to get ideas.
This is yet another one of the reasons I’m still using 1.8, even though I have Studio 😛
Nope, can’t browse from hardware, and no word on if pattern loading will come back, judging from the browser which doesn’t have a space for it I wouldn’t hold out hope LOL. BUT, it’s possible considering the things they brought back in 2.1 that many of us had gripes with 🙂
I exported a pattern from one project as midi. But when I drag it onto a group in another project it comes up as empty – no midi notes. Any idea what I may have done wrong?
If there were midi notes in the original pattern they should show up in your new one.
Hey SJ.
When i Copy an entire kit, and paste it to a new group, only the midi notes are copied and are put all beneath eachother.I mean, the empty slots are not copied so I have to drag the the midi notes to to corresponding soundslotsBut I want to copy and paste all midi-patterns to the exact same slots.Somehow possible.
Thanks for reply
How are you copying? Are you using events mode, selecting all, copy, then going to the new group and pasting? It’s working for me when I do it that way.
I tried it a few more times and randomly I get the notes pasted on top of each other like you say, I can’t seem to find a trigger as to why it happens sometimes and not others. Also when highlighting and doing a copy/paste from the keyboard it seems to work properly. Seems like a bug to me, even drag and drop of midi between the groups produces the issues sometimes.
I like how organize you keep folders. Did check the “Prefer project folder” tab in the preferences? I thinking it may be a good idea to move my Maschine folder to a custom location. These vids are priceless. NICE.
You know I’m big on organization fam LOL, I don’t like clutter at all hahahaha.
Great video as always, i got confused when i couldn’t hear anything but then remembered i still need to load a kit, Thanks man!
No problem fam, glad to help!
