You may have watched my previous video on importing third party kontakt libraries into the Maschine 2.0 browser, and you may remember that they don’t really import with tag data like Massive, Fm8 and other Komplete presets.
In this video I show a quicker way to import your Kontakt libraries so that you have full control over the tags and how they are organized in the browser, this way you don’t have to worry about having a whole list of files under the Kontakt bank with no proper organization.
For someone like me with a ton of Kontakt files, this definitely helps with organization

Thanks man…I really like the Sound Squad plugin from MVP loops…I’m gonna have to import the files like that on Maschine. Big ups!
No doubt fam!
Excellent I had been tryin to figure this one out. I couldn’t get a bunch of old patches to show up and batch re-save did the trick!!! I’m gla I signed up for real!
Glad to help man!
One question though, I have a library that’s pretty old (VI.ONE). It’s files are all monoliths and I can’t batch resave them, they make kontakt crash when I try. I know about saving the patches with samples but there are far too many for it to be worthwhile. Any tricks you might know on this one?
Yeah I’m not sure there is a way around re-saving monolith files, you’d have to do them one by one I believe as patches.
I figured as much, but try show up as a kontakt library so it’s no biggie. Thanks for the quick reply!
No problem man!
Need help plug-ins…
Not quite sure what that means, please be more specific.
Hi there,
Until I upgraded to Maschien 2.4 I had done all that and my non Kontakt player instruments from Soniccouture were neatly filed under “Type”, Sonic Couture and the relevant “modes”. Now I can’t import certain libraries and those I can, they are divided up over different tags I never typed in so it’s a bloody mess.
How do I delete or edit those tags and start organising again?
Eamonn
I think it’s due to the new database system, maybe they are reading their built in tags now. You would have to click on a tag, then highlight everything under that tag, click edit, then remove the tag.
Hi St. Joe. Hope all is well with you. So I’m loving machine so far. its a beast. So i load samples into my user. non kontact by the way. when i go to load it into a group from the sample section ( which is the only place they show up) It doesn’t allow me to highlight any other pads to add new sounds. So i load a kick (pad1) go to load a snare in pad two but it just changes the pad 1 sound to a snare and its affected no matter what group i use?. any… Read more »
Turn off prehear, or you can use select to hit the pad you want to load to. When prehear is on, it will only focus on the current pad and you can’t quickly change it.
worked!! Thank you.
No problem.
What if I’ve already imported the kits and they show up in the factory side, how can I remove them in order to import them on the user side the way you described in the video?
And I assume this will also work for Massive 3rd party kits as well?
I simply moved the files to a new location and imported them in user banks. thanks
Nice, you can also always go into the preferences menu under library and remove them from there.
