Hey what’s good MT fam? This is a quick tip for Maschine 2.0 and those that are slicing/chopping their samples directly in the software.
If you want to have each slice on it’s own pad instead of having all the slices applied to a single pad in keyboard mode this video is for you.
When doing this from the hardware of course you hit “apply to” and choose and empty group.
When doing this from the software it’s a different process but still super fast.

saintjoe i’ve been peeping yours site out for a while, just wanted to chime in and say thanks to you and people like you holding it down. i’m new to the site, to maschine, hell to the web…and i just wanted to let you know..for the ones on the fence (like i was for years) watching and learning THANK YOU.
Glad to help fam!!
thank you. this makes it even more worthwhile to set my samples up on different groups and experiment.
No problem fam!
Nice!!!
glad you liked it
Very new to this.
Can you mix up the order of the pads or does it have to be in the same order as when you originally chopped it up?
Thank you
You can mix up the order in any way you wish
Dope!! Thank you.
No problem
so you got to always move it to a new group regardless software or hardware? why is that? i’m not sure it was like that in 1.8 was it? just curious, thanks!
My bad, answered the wrong question LOL. You don’t have to but I always move my chops to a new group when slicing.
oh word thanks saint joe! sorry for the late reply!
No doubt fam!
Please point me in the right direction. I’m using a Maschine MK1 on Software 2.3. 1st Question: What do I do when the auto-slice leaves pops at the end of the sample chops. Do you have to adjust those manually or is there a way to make the auto-slice chop at the zero crossing of the wave to eliminate the popping? 2nd question: If there are more than 16 sample chops when I do the drag and drop do they just get cut off or is there a way to make Maschine route those to another Group. My work-around has… Read more »
Adjusting the chops is probably your best bet, unless you want to change the playback to ahd and use the release to get rid of it.
As for more than 16, if you want them all it’s easier to click apply and play them in keyboard mode instead of apply to a new group. If you want them on their own pad either do it the way you have been or you can drag them the other chops manually to a different group.
Thanks for your quick answer. I will try it out.
No problem fam.
Thanks for your videos! Newbie here: when I apply chops to a pattern in a new group, the chops are assigned to pads and arranged in a step pattern. But, when I push Play, there is a slight overlap between the sounds. Please help!
You may want to adjust your tempo (slower) or put the chops into the same choke group, check this video https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-how-to-make-your-pads-and-chops-cut-each-other-off/
