The new ability to adjust the loop range in the arrange section is definitely a welcomed feature in Maschine 2.0
Being able to adjust it from the hardware is just as important, and in this video tutorial I show you how to do so from the Maschine MK2 controller.
This will allow you to adjust the loop range for your scenes and patterns, no matter if you want to play them all at once, focus on one scene at a time, or focus on a specific section of the scene you are working in.

Hi SJ did you try this on MK1. The step buttons don’t light up. Have left this functionality for MK1?
I will pull out my mk1 this weekend and give it a try
‘Pull it out’ Damn mehn, you make it sound like a dinosaur. I have to upgrade now.
Nah, I have all the controllers LOL, I just stopped using the mk1 once I got the mk2
Did you get a chance to test the loop range functionality on the MK1 yet? The combo buttons is not working
for me because the step buttons don’t light up
My bad bro, it appears the loop range on the MK1 works exactly like the Mikro https://maschinetutorials.com/maschine-2-0-how-to-adjust-the-scene-loop-range-from-the-maschine-mikro-controller/
Ok thanks will test that now. One last question. How do I switch between the sequencer and the mixer from the controller? I did by accident but can’t for the life of me remember how.
shift+navigate
Gosh! How easy is that. I think I am suffering from overload.Lol! Thanks bro.
All good man 🙂
So does that mean you can’t select a specific loop range within a scene on the micro and MK1? I know you can do it on the software why would they leave out on the hardware?
Nope, you can only select full scenes or multiple scenes, not sure why, the buttons/knobs are there to make it happen
Oversight I think. Will ask them tomorrow.
Nah, it just wasn’t designed to it, but I think it could easily be setup to do so. They just didn’t code for it on the mikro/mk1
My MK2 will not move loop left or right marker individually when pressing Shift+Restart+Step Arrow.
Am i doing it right?
Moving loop range using Shift+Restart+Dial works fine.
Thanks for video
you have to be holding shift+restart+an arrow while turning the knob for it to work, also check your pattern grid setting, if it’s not set to something that is smaller than your current pattern it won’t move, so if it’s set to 1 bar and your current pattern/loop is one bar, you wont be able to move it unless you have more patterns to move it to.
all four together. It works. Yes!!!
Thank so much Saint Joe
Nice man!
I used my MK1 for the first time in a while for a recording session tonight…I really missed the ability to loop within scenes from the hardware like it can be done from the Studio…thanks for the info…I was trying to figure out how to do it all night on the MK1…come to find out it can’t be done! Lol…I also really missed the mixer!
Totally feel you man!
thankyouu!
No problem!
Good info, SJ! Much help!
Glad to help!
Hey saintjoe.
Love this site! You guys have a great teaching style.
I am wondering if it is possible to duplicate a section of a scene to a new scene? For example: if I find a 2 or 1 1/2 bar phrase inside of a four bar scene with the loop brace, can I copy/duplicate the selected area only? Thanks in advance!
Glad you like it! 🙂
Unfortunately, Maschine’s sequencer/arranger isn’t that flexible, the scenes are basically just containers, so the actual data is still contained in the patterns. You’d have to go through each pattern and copy the data to new ones, etc…it gets cumbersome when you want to start moving data round between patterns/scenes. Hopefully we get more control in the scenes in the near future, it’s something many of us have been asking for, for a while.
Cool. Thanks for the fast reply. That would be a great feature for future versions. Thankfully, it is easily accomplished in my various daws.
Totally, would be great to have that ability directly in Maschine.
Agreed. I do like working in the standalone version. Maybe if we all keep lobbying for it, NI will listen. I am pretty new to Maschine but not samplers and daws and Maschine’s sequencer/arranger is the biggest limitation I have found with it. So it goes. Keep up the excellent work, saintjoe!
Yeah, hopefully we get something, it’s been a long time coming for sure.
Just got back into maschine recently and i cant seem to select all scenes to play at once, did this change with the software? i dont have the option “All” to select, i have
scene unique append dupl
Running softare version 2.8
Cheers!
They changed it in an update, but you just turn loop off to play all of the scenes.
Dang i did not get this reply! cheers ST J 🙂
All good fam lol
