As we all know by now, one of the major new additions in Maschine 2.0 is the drum synth module.
There are multiple versions of the module and we want to make sure you fully understand each one.
This video runs through everything related to the snare drum synth module, including details for each engine, the parameters, and how to load it from the controller or the software GUI.
Much like the kick drum synth module, this module covers traditional synthesized sounds as well as more natural acoustic drums.
Of course all of the parameters can be quickly tweaked from the controller or directly in the interface

I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but my questions is if I am recording in realtime into ableton live on my maschine studio, can I use automation using the synth module? I am trying to create the sound of a hi hat gradually opening and closing, only using a hat from a drum machine instead of a real one. Make sense? Not sure if there is another way to do that or not.
Do you mean while recording the audio output or recording the automation data into Ableton?
I’d like to be able to do it either way I usually record in real time. So, In this instance what I would do is hold down note repeat, then the pad my hat is on, then I would like to automate the pad by adjusting the parameters in the synth module while recording in real time. However, If there is a way to do that by recording the hat sound and then just automating by assigning a macro and writing the automation, im game for that too.
I don’t know if ableton will record the automation from Maschine when you turn the knobs or not, I do believe you can present the automation to ableton though I’d have to look into it. But you should be able to do it realtime as audio, though holding note repeat AND tweaking the synth at the same time may present a challenge 🙂
Up for the challenge! I have wanted to do it for a while so I’ll see If I can figure it out. If you happen to find another way to achieve this please let me know! Thanks
Indeed 🙂
Is there anyway you can control the synth module with a foot pedal? I see the inputs for the footswitch in the back. If not, what exactly can you control using the footswitch?
Footswitch is mainly for transport control it seems so far.
