So another great thing about Maschine 2.0 is the ability to import MIDI into the sequencer.
Well along with that comes the ability to drag and drop MIDI from the various plugins and libraries that support it, directly into the sequencer.
In this tutorial I show how to use the MIDI files directly from a few different Kontakt libraries with Kontakt or even with other plugins you have loaded in Maschine.
Creativity and flexibility have definitely increased with this addition and we can now take advantage of the many instruments that come with this feature.

Nice! Can’t wait to try this!
No doubt man!
Big Homie, I”m still using the MK2, and for some reason when I try to incorporate the midi into 2.0 it keeps saying missing samples or sounds, I went directly to where the folder is stored and had to manually search for the missing samples, is there an easier way to do it ?
Make sure it’s midi and not a pattern file or kit. Midi will not look for sounds but pattern files and kits will still look for the sounds that they were created with. The MK2 doesn’t matter in terms of the software as the 2.0 software works the same on all of them
Hey!What about the NI west africa and cuba ensemble? Can i take individual some of the instruments playing in the ensembles?Or is it possible to record them in different channels in Maschine?
The ensembles are addressed as a single instrument so there is no way to access each sound individually via midi
can i drag more than one midi chord from the chord lab into one single pattern in maschine?
I’m not sure which chord lab you’re talking about but you should be able to add more midi data to your pattern, it may be easier to do when in keyboard mode as in regular pad mode it may replace what you have already.
i talk about the studiolinkedvst chord lab. i tried this in keyboard mode but it seems to replace every time.
Ahh ok, I don’t have that one. But I’ve also complained to NI before about not being able to add midi data to multiple pads in the same group so it may not be an issue with chordlab but a limitation in maschine. A workaround is to drag to another group and copy the data from within maschine to the group you want then it will merge instead of teplace.
hopefully this will come with an update soon..but i heard of machine will get a chord function..
Yeah, even with the chord function I think we should still be able to merge midi data in the same patterns, sometimes you have multiple midi files you want to use.
yeah this would be a very powerful add
hey JK, So I have a MIDI file of an 8-bar loop. I’m using the MIDI file for an instrument on Kontakt, everything works fine for the 8 bars, but when I’m copying the pattern notes to continue throughout the song, the “Sustain Pedal” isn’t being copied, only the Velocity. Do you know how to copy the Sustain Pedal as well, so that the sound is consistent?
Where is the sustain pedal stored? In Maschine’s automation? The easiest way to copy automation is to duplicate that pattern instead of copying the notes directly.
Yeah so the Sustain Pedal is the 64th option on Maschine’s automation. To backtrack a little bit, what I’m working with is a MIDI file of a instrument i downloaded online, the instrument has a sustain pedal included in the MIDI. I can send you guys an email of the before and after pictures that I am getting to show that the Sustain Pedal is not being duplicated.
There’s no direct way to copy the automation separate from the pattern, the easiest way is to duplicate the whole pattern, make sure you have “+event” chosen when you duplicate. I believe you that it’s not copying, but there’s really no way to troubleshoot it. Maschine isn’t the greatest when it comes to handling and editing automation across multiple patterns but it definitely should duplicate when you duplicate the whole pattern.
Ahh just got your email, you’re working within the same pattern. What I would suggest is shrinking the pattern first so that it’s the same size as the original file, then press pattern button and choose “double” and it should over for you that way.
Hi, saintjoe! I’m new to the Maschine Tutorials fam. Happy to be here. Really dope that there is a spot for all the Maschine heads. Thanks for what you do. I have a particular question. I’ve been digging for this one around the net, but haven’t found anything related to Maschine. My question is regarding a specific drum sample library that I use through Kontakt. I found a way to create multiple output channels for the individual drum kit parts in Kontakt, but how do I go about actually pulling the Individual stems for each part? Every time I export,… Read more »
Welcome to the MT Fam! Here’s a video I did a while back showing this, some things may look a little different since it is an earlier version of Maschine 2, but should lead you in the right direction.

Of course feel free to ask questions if you have them!
