Here’s another preview tutorial I did for the MK2/MK1 users before Maschine 2.0 was released, showing how the browser works on these controllers.
For sure the browsing on the Maschine Studio is quite a new experience but even browsing on the original controllers has been changed to match the way the new browser works in the Maschine 2 software interface.
This tutorial shows you exactly what you can expect on your MK2 or MK1 controller and how to operate the browser to find what you need.
With all the sounds and content we have in Maschine, understanding how to find it properly definitely improves your workflow.

This may be a silly question but for some reason I don’t seem to get all the products to show up in the browser. I have The MK2 and it came with Komplete Elements and under products under instruments I only get Maschine, Massive, Prism and Mark 1
Komplete Elements only comes with the ones you see, all the other stuff comes in the full version of Komplete.
Word, now i don’t feel so crazy. Thanks
No problem fam!
What does Button #3 /Locate do in the browser mode? I just don’t get it 🙁
It will take you to the location of the sound or sample on the current pad in the browser.
I see the “pre hear” option in the sample category. Is there a way to quickly audition all the instruments without having to click/drag/load on the computer screen?
Ex. Instead of turning the knob on the sample side of the hardware, clicking load, the hitting the pad. Is it possible to turn the knob and just hit the pad without the delay?
Hope this makes sense! Thanks for creating these tutorials for us
Unfortunately you can only audition samples, not instruments or sounds.
Good evening,
I’m new to this capacity of beat making and I wanted to know… how does one get a sample that was converted to wave, saved on the mk2? I’m having issues with being able to added drums to the sample of vice versa
thx you
You don’t have to save it directly, if you’re using it in your beat you can open it directly from the file browser. You can then save your entire project and it will save the location of the sample. Or you can choose “save project with samples” and it will save the samples you used with the project file.
