Hey so I had some questions about setting up the Maschine controller to play samples in Studio One’s Impact, and as I was putting it together I decided to break it out into separate videos.
This tutorial will show you how to setup your own new basic template for triggering sounds in Impact. But I’m also putting together a separate one to go over the dedicated Maschine templates provided by Studio One as they are really deeply programmed.
However, for basic midi triggering this will work for any of the controllers, while the other video is specific to the original Maschine as they haven’t updated the templates for the MK2 yet.
Of course if you have any questions just ask!

Nice one fam. impact has some good sounds that can be used by banging on the maschine pads. Are you still able to tweak the sounds inside of impact while in controller mode ???
This is just a simple way to map the pads not the knobs so you still tweak with the mouse
Hey Joe, I’m on Studio One 5 with Mikro 2 and I see the midi input reading but no sound. I have the C1 set correctly in the editor matching my impact XT, please help
If you’re seeing the MIDI trigger then it should work, the only other thing I would check is to see if they changed the note Impact XT responds to. You can try c2 or c3 just in case.
I’ll try that real quick
I went through every note from Bottom C to top C, while tapping on the 1st pad on Mashine and still no sound. I see it receiving information. My Akai MPK 225 is making sound from the same Impact track without issue
I just tried it, it works without any special template. I just plugged up the Mikro MK2 and used the default MIDI mode. Template 1.
I had to change to pad group C for Pad 1 to line up with C1 in Impact XT.
Thanks Joe, they worked….. You rock
Glad to help bro!
