This video shows you how to get your plugins inside Maschine no and will work for you no matter if you are using VST or AU plugins. It also explains how Maschine handles 32bit and 64 bit plugins differently, and how which version of the Maschine software (32 bit or 64 bit) you are using will determine which plugins are available for your use.
This is the first step in expanding the sound and fx capabilities of Maschine and bringing it into the next level of all in one music production. Once you have your plugins inside and ready to access, a whole new world is ready for you!
*access instantly when you join today!
For anyone on a mac, as saintjoe mentions: select the Maschine application icon and hit command-i (or right click and select 'Get Info') to be able to tick/untick 'Open in 32 bit mode'.
word man, thanks…I get that question all the time yo
how did you get reaktor and kore 64bit?
I use jbridge for them, I only have a few 32 bit plugs and I use jbridge to access them in my 64 bit version
Joe, Knock, What can I say that hasn’t already been said about the site? In the short couple of weeks that I’ve been a member, you have already exceeded my wildest expectations and you’ve just begun to get comfortable with it! Congratulations fellas. You are now the OFFICIAL Maschine Afficionados! Quick question; I wanna get Komplete 7 but only have about 20 gigs left on my hard drive. Can the sounds be installed on an external drive and if so, what’s the process? I’m on an Intel based iMac running the very latest OS. If this is possible, I’d be… Read more »
lol..the above message had “activating de-cloaking device” at the start of it but somehow it got erased…LOL. Ruined my whole star trek joke
Thanks bro! And yes, you can install on an external, you just have to choose it as the location during the install.
LOL! HA! Knock! I got the “activating decloaking device” line on my iPhone. Don’t know why it didn’t show on the site but you got me. OK, thanks fellas. I’m gonna install on the external. Need to get a 2TB just for my various sounds. I’ve never posted a beat o ANY of the sites I’ve joined (MV Nation, Beatkangz, various others) but you guys and Maschine have truly inspired me and made me wanna take the (truly scary) chance on my music being judged by the masses. Not saying I’m the next coming or anything but when I finally… Read more »
Ahahaha, no doubt fam lol, let us know how it goes!
Hey SJ, what are the benefits using Maschine in 64 bit? I know some plugins are 64bit and some 32 bit, but, does it help with your cpu running smoother? Because I have a couple of Ik Multimedia plugins that I use that are not 64 bit and I need them in my workflow. It’s more of a tech question i guess.
The main benefit is you get access to all of the memory in your computer as opposed to being limited to 2gb for the program. When in 32 bit mode you’re limited to about 2gb of ram for maschine, then when loading plugins they take from that ram. If in 64 bit mode, theoretically there is no limit to the ram Maschine can use, thus no limit to the ram that your plugins can use. So the main thing for audio apps is no ram limit, though I’m sure there are also general processor/efficiency benefits as well, for me it’s… Read more »
Fellas, how do you move maschine between 64 and 32 modes in windows?
there are two shortcuts, one that says maschine and the other says maschine (64 bit) but this is only if you are on a 64 bit version of windows. If you are on a regular 32 bit version of windows it won’t matter, you wont have a 64 bit version of maschine.
Ohh no man i messed up haha. So i set the plugin manager to scan my Program files (86) Folder. Because i thought that would be easier, but i had it set to “Scan on startup” So now when i try to reopen maschine it is scanning the whole program files. Which is making the Maschine freeze. So i can’t even boot it up to uncheck the scan-on startup. So i am stuck atm.
Will reinstalling maschine be the only solution, And will this even help me? I mean doesn’t it remember previous settings.
lol, shortcuts can get ya lol
go to
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Maschine
delete the files:
Plugins_ia32 and Plugins_x64
you should be able to open and reset the plugin path.
That solved my problem indeed. Thanks man! 🙂
Good news yo!
Hello!! Awesome site! I am trying to access my internal plugins but after scanning they still do not appear. I know maschine comes with a few plugins but i cannot see them at all. Help!
Did you add the folder they are in to Maschine preferences? Also are you using 32 or 64 bit? Check this video for more info

Hi saintjoe, i´m new here. Great place to be. I have my maschine just a couple of days and learned so much from your site. Great thanks. I have a little question regarding the presets of the plugins (GuitarRig 5.) I made a stupid mistale. I fired up guitar rig in maschine and i wanted to delete something in maschine hit the backspace button and boom, was in the wrong window all my presets (style > ambient presets) were gone. Couldnt figure out how to reset guitar rig. You know a way? Would be awesome cause i loved that section.… Read more »
Welcome to the site, glad you like it. If you go into preferences there is a library tab, go in there and press rescan. It should find your presets for you.
Hi saint, sadly this doesn’t works for my problem. I deleted this inside of GuitarRig (as PlugIn Version) not standalone. I rescanned the library inside machine like you said. Nu success. I fired up GuitarRig Standalone, there is no Rescan button. So, think i have to install it fresh and new.
Oh ok, got ya. Go into GR options, there is a spot to “reset” the database, if you do that when you open GR it will rescan all the presets again.
Yea! Works like a charm Thanks Man!
Good news bro!
hey Joe, iv’e been hittin you up on youtube until now about all of this until now, i just joined on tonight.I need some help with this man, you’re right it’s pretty straight foward but i don’t what’s going wrong. I have Reaktor 5, Kontakt 4, and guitar rig. I just updated my maschine controller, reaktor, and kontakt 4. Please tell me why i can see these plug ins on the desktop and even in maschine, but can’t scan them? The only one iv’e seen is reaktor in my preference tab and when i open it just has the documents,… Read more »
Send me a picture of what you have in your setup. Matter fact, email me at help@MaschineTutorials.com so we can get it figured out.
Hey SJ, I have vst and au versions for a lot of plug ins, should I be using one instead of the other in maschine? it would be nice to only have the ones show up that I’ll use… I dont need the same plug in showing up a couple times.
Thanks!
use vst if you have it, that seems to be the preferred version by most, they usually have better control and more stability/efficiency
hey saintjoe, im running windows 64 bit but sumhow installed the 32 bit version of maschine…idk if i should stay on 32 bit or maybe have the headache of uninstalling the 32 bit and installing the 64 bit..wat u think man?
if you search in your start menu you should see a shortcut that says Maschine (64 bit) it usually installs both if you have a 64 bit OS.
that was easy thanx homie
no doubt fam!
Itried adding Reason and FL, by going into program files, like in the video, but it kept crashinjg. What may I be doing wrong?
Reason and fl are not plugins. FL can be used as a plugin if you installed the vst version when you first installed FL. Reason can’t be used as a plugin, it’s not a vst.
I don’t understand 32 vs 64 bit. My windows 7 is 64 bit so should I be in 64 bit and if so that means I cant use my plugins right.
Or is 32 bit fine? What does 64 bit do that 32 doesnt?
on 64 bit windows, you can have programs that are 64 or 32 bit. If you run maschine in 64 bit, you need to use 64 bit plugins, if you run it in 32 bit, you need to use 32 bit plugins.
One of the main things about 64 bit plugins is that they can address all the memory on your computer, same with 64 bit applications.
32 bit applications can’t access all the meomory. There are also other benefits of running 64 bit plugins in a 64 bit host, including better handling of resources and such.
So should I go to 64 and then use that j bridge for everything else or stay at 32?
really your choice man
So , can I change the 64 – 32 bit files ? bcause i’m using 64 bit .. but my guitar rig and some other stuff are in the 32 black list ? Also , this site ROOOCKKSS !! really helpfull
Nevermind ! i was using the 32 bit :p haa stupid me
Lol no doubt man, glad you got it
I was really concerned about the 64 vs 32 bit issue. It is now all clear after reading this thread. thanks!
glad to help man!
Firstly I would like to say how great your tutorials are. Thanks. Though is this video missing? Don’t seem to be seeing on this page?
Glad you like them fam, please try it now I re embeded the video 🙂
so can i use vsti plugins?
Yes indeed
What’s up St.Joe,
Man this site is a Godsend! You and Knock are the best.
Hey,,, just got my Maschine Studio last week and was totally lost until I found this site yesterday. Native Instruments should bundle these videos as part of the documentation on getting started. Anyway, you make a statement that you prefer to use the 64 bit version of Mashine. Could you explain the rationale behind this, benefits of 64 vs. 32 bit?
Glad to help fam!!
Yeah, 64 bit lets you use all your available ram, I use a lot of sample based libraries so I want to be able to use all the RAM on my computer when working 🙂
Thanks for the answer man, makes sense. On a related note, I’m looking to organize my VST library from Mashine and other 3rd party ones that I already owned from my current DAW. Since I’m starting out fresh, I wanted to know if there was a suggested way to organize VST’s, Plugins, Expansions, Soundpools ? I know I will be getting the Komplete Ultimate soon also. I have a totally clean 3TB external Hard drive and was thinking of loading everything there to centralize things. Does that make sense; or is there a “best practices” approach? Any suggestions are greatly… Read more »
It’s mainly whatever works best in your setup, remember an external drive may be slower than an internal in terms of loading sounds, but if you’re using usb 3 it may not be too bad.
man i wish i coyuld downgrade…i have maschine 2.0 i cant find a tut for it anywhere
We have over 80 of them, where are you looking at?
https://maschinetutorials.com/category/maschine-2-0/
man i wish i could downgrade…i have maschine 2.0 i cant find a tut for it anywhere
I downloaded Gross Beats and tried to put the folder into Maschine but it doesn’t show up. Is their something I’m missing? Please advise.
Check to see if it’s 32 bit or 64 bit
Wassup SaintJoe, my name Stephen I am a friend of Moody from Dallas he sent me over to your site. First off this site is amazing just got my machine 3 days ago but I am having trouble loading my vst Miroslav Philharmonic on my mac mini anyway you can help me? I have a 2.0 btw
Welcome fam. Is miroslav 32 bit or 64 bit? If I remember correctly it’s 32 bit so you’d have to make sure to open Maschine in 32 bit. You can do a “get info” on the app icon to make sure it opens in 32 bit instead of 64 bit mode.
Hey I cant seem to get Roland Integra 7 Editor to show up in my plugins menu.
Check to make sure you’re using the proper version, 32 bit for 32 bit Maschine, 64 bit for 64 bit Maschine. If it’s a vst3 it will not show up at all though.
