I use these features in Maschine a lot, especially from the software. And I usually get asked “what did you just do” when using it in videos.
This shows the 3 different ways you can zoom in and out of patterns, samples, and scenes, as well as how to scroll through them.

great tip. but i would love to se NI do line a playline that would follow the patteren as it plays. hope that make sense.
It does, it’s the white strip that goes across the pattern as it plays, or do you mean something else?
Iguess what i mean is that the screen moves across the patteren as it plays. so say your playing a pattern as it moves to the 3 bar——> the screen scrolls automaticly to show the 4th bar —–>I that is not seen on your laptop.

the best way i can say it is like when you record in your daw, the playline I —-> moves.

Sorry about the crude drawings.
By having this it also allows you to see what might be off visually when the play bar stops.
I got ya, you want it to autoscrol with the pattern 🙂
yes sir, thank you for putting that in a few words. 🙂 I get caught up in writing a big as thesis. LOL LOL
Hahahaha, you’re not the first to ask for that bro! I feel ya. I’m not a fan of autoscroll but I see the use of it for others, I say bring it on as an option!
Nice
word man, glad to help.
Helpful as usual. I have been so dedicated to using a trackball, that I find it intimidating to use the controller. After joining our community here, I am starting to use the controller more and more. I realize it makes sense now in regards to the creative flow and keeping continuity in it…
Cool man! I find myself doing a mixture actually, some stuff I naturally grab the mouse for, some stuff is quicker with the controller. What I like is the ability to have the options 🙂 Glad you find it useful!
Wow, just saw this. Really helped with my organizing of patterns and sample slicing. Thanks so much!! My beats are still whack though, not worth posting yet haha
Lol, glad to help fam!
On a standard forum I would agree because there’s always a bunch of idiots ready and waiting to tear people up, but your part of the MT fam and that makes a HUGE difference.
So if you post a beat here, you’re only going to get constructive criticism that will HELP YOU to get to where you want to be. Nobody paid to come here and put people down, trust me. 🙂
Indeed fam!
‘…your part of the MT fam…’
Tsk tsk! lol ‘…you’re part of the MT fam…’ I mean. Glad I spotted that before RP did! 🙂
Oh yeah fam, you can def post your beats hear, I missed that part lol. We all like to help each other grow and get better.
It would be nice if the sample zoom had just a little bit more resolution at the ‘zoomed in’ end of the scale. Sometimes, I want to zoom almost all the way in but not quite, but there’s an area where it jumps to being zoomed all the way in and that can be too far, yet when I back it off a little bit, it jumps to not being zoomed in quite far enough.
I don’t know it that will ever seem important enough for them to add more resolution, but it would be nice.
Yeah I hear ya, try holding the shift button when you’re zooming, see if it gives you a lil more resolution.
Gonna try to find time this weekend to open up Maschine so I’ll try that, thanks.
cool, lemme know how it works for ya
nice tip!
enjoy!
Yeah, I just use the knobs, too.
Using the pads gets pretty annoying having to ‘ttap tap tap’ all the time to move across.
You would think that holding down a pad would just just scroll moving across smoothly. NI should implement that.
I agree, I always though holding down the pad should zoom/scroll smoothly
May i ask you which screen size do you have?
I have a 27″ screen
Is this the same for the Mikro?
Only doing it from the pads is the same, the Mikro doesn’t have the knobs to do it like on the big controller. But you can also press view on the mikro and you will get some options to zoom in and out of the pattern or wave.
Is there a feature to do the scene and group scroll/zoom from Maschine studio?
You can use the navigate button on Maschine Studio as well, and when you’re in the arranger/scene view you can use the knobs below the screen.
