Hey what’s good fam?
This is a video for those that use or may be interested in the Trigger Finger Pro from M-Audio
I show how to set it up so that you can sync the clock of the Trigger Finger with Maschine.
This will allow you to use the roll function as well as the step sequencer on the Trigger Finger Pro controller and have it sync with the tempo of your project in Maschine

Nice video. $199 is not bad either. I paid 249 for the original.
Yeah, I think it was originally 399 or 499 but they dropped the price, just like they did on the mpc. For 199, def not a bad controller.
St Joe I had the TFP before I returned it for my Mascine MK 2 and now Studio (long story, two dead pads, Christmas break, 6 weeks plus, no Maschine, sad, upgrade, esstatic even if I am now more broke). It was impossible to accurately sync the TFP to a DAW due to logical flaws in the way the TFP counts MIDI clocks when acting as a slave. It started the sequencer one clock early when it had received a MIDI clock Start message, this cloud be resolved in Logic by adding a 40 Tick delay (one MIDI Clock is… Read more »
Can’t say that I’ve noticed it but I don’t really use the TFP all that often.
Not a problem – I don’t have it any more, so it was only academic.
Thanks for the tutorial though. I decided to set up my old BeatStep and just couldn’t get it to slave to Maschine. Watch the video again and realised I hadn’t setup the MIDI out. I am going to have a bit of old time fun with the BeatStep now.
Keep up the great work.
Cheers
Just looked at the output from Maschine 2.3 in relation to the MIDI Clock messages and SSP. Maschine 2.x does send SSP and there is no way to turn this off, so if you are recording a sequence to a Pattern that is not located at the start of the song, things might get very interesting. And I see that Maschine break the MIDI Clock standard by never sending a Start message at the start of a song (when SSP = 0) but it always sends a Continue message on the beginning of any play even. I doubt this would… Read more »
Thanks for the follow-up man 🙂
hey awesome video. i recently snagged a TFP as the machine controller i was using was shared at the studio and the person i shared with has since moved on and unfortunately took it with them. pocket have been kinda tight so i went for the cheaper option of the TFP which to be honest i really like. espeially the feel of it. only problem is the software that it comes with i.e. Arsenal is limited and i would love to use TFP with my whole komplete library and maschine itself without having to use arsenal as a plugin. I… Read more »
There’s really no deep way to use TFP with Maschine other than step sequencing or using the pads for basic MIDI control, it will definitely not integrate like Maschine will and Maschine doesn’t allow deep mapping for external control of transport and things like that. May be worth looking into a used controller for Maschine.
