How to save plugin presets into the Maschine library
This tutorial shows you the process of saving VST plugin presets into the Maschine library and how to tag them so you can pull them up easily from the software or hardware
This is messed up! The numbers don’t jibe — say you save 5 Program List presets in Massive and enable them. Taking the example further, you could then Save As from a configured module slot in Maschine and call it “Massive”, import it into your library, and browse it from the hardware. At that point you have 1 Maschine preset saved, which if you use the software, from that loaded Maschine preset, you can then drill down into any of your 5 Program List presets. It doesn’t appear that you can drill down into the Program List presets with hardware.… Read more »
you have two things going on here, the program list is just a way to see the presets in the drop down list, if you want to browse those presets from the hardware you have to save each one. There used to be a bulk import of presets but it proved problematic so they took it out until they get it worked out the way they want, they mentioned this on the NI beta forum as well. So program lists are just ways to recall your plugin with a specific set of presets loaded, if you want to browse them… Read more »

I’m sure its way more complicated than this, but sure looks like they shoulda just iterated on AudioEffect.getProgram() by the number of programs returned by AudioEffect.numPrograms from the VST 2.3 SDK from Steinberg… I can’t even find the crazy Program List object anywhere… Oh well, I posted a bug/usability issue with NI in the beta bugtrack. We’ll see… Clearly livable as we can always just use the software, I’m just a hardware d00d when I have the choice… Someone should hack a scaffold/utility program to allow folks to manage their Maschine libs! I also submitted this as an enhancement request… Read more »
yeah, like I said, they had bulk import but it was problematic because not all plugins advertise their presets to the host the same way, trust they will come up with a better way to pull in presets instead of one by one. The program list is totally different and that’s just how some plugins show their presets to a host, but it’s not an import feature. If you want to browse them from hardware, just save them as module presets 🙂
Yeah, it was there at one point, but they took it out because it was proving to be problematic since all plugins to not advertise their presets to the host in the same way. Some were importing a bunch of presets named “empty” or ‘default” lol. Hopefully they bring it back though because it would be very useful.

Good Idea here…Wish it could be one shot import instead of piece by piece…lol. I WANT ALL OF THE PRESETS! lol…later fam.
