Yo what’s good MT fam, I wanted to put out a another free tutorial for the Maschine community as a whole on YouTube showing how to layer your plugins in Maschine.
Not only that, I show it in a way that gets around the limitations of Pad Link mode which allows you to actually play your layered sounds from your keyboard and not just the pads.
It’s actually pretty simple but works well and it’s very quick.
This can also be done in your DAW and is even simpler to setup because of the advanced midi routing in a DAW….I may follow up with a video on that for the MT fam!

Good tutorial. This is why Kore 2 needs to be continued, unless they’re going to incorporate Kore 2 features inside of Maschine.
Kore features will not be included in Maschine, however Kore will not stop working so we can still use it, it just will not be developed any further. However, it already does what I need it to do anyway, I’m just waiting for 64 bit support.
nice video – one of those why did i not think of that.
Hopefully Maschine will get more MIDI routing and Audio routing possibilities, to give it some of the flexibility that Kore has.
Agreed bro, def needs some more options in this area, shouldn’t have to change my midi controller channel, I should just be able to route midi, link, play, all sorts of stuff, natively!
Thanks for all your help. Keep up the good work.
No problem, glad to help. Lol @ that avatar yo lol.
once again! helpful video! Short and to the point! I’m feeling these short tips u have been doing Lately! keep em coming!
Cool brotha, glad you like em!
I need help with the rewire vst. When I open it up in Maschine I have reason open but the rewire vst does not seem to recognize anything. What should I do. Another question I only seem to get midi channel 1 to work for when trying to layer vst sounds what am I doing worng.
Open the rewire vst before you open Reason.
For the midi issue, make sure you’re changing the midi channel on your midi controller so it responds to the other channels.
If you change the midi channel on the sounds you need to change it on your controller so they respond properly.
Thanks the rewire vst works now thanks!!!! But I think I need a new controller. Which one is the one you use, if you don’t mid me asking.
For the midi problem its triggering the midi because I see it lighting up on the screen in maschine but no sound. I found out how to change midi channel on my controller but still no sound. Even when I change the midi channel on both no sound.
Are you trying to do this with the ReWire vst? You can’t do it with that. But if you’re doing what I did in the video it should work, as long as you are triggering on the proper channel, and also make sure you didn’t change the sound output for the pads.
Yo, make sure you have your midi input in maschine set to omni and not channel 1, I posted a picture for you in the forum

No problem fam, glad to help. Always remember to open rewire host first before you open a rewire slave, works better that way and sometimes it’s the only way it will work.
I was bugging when I tried to play the stack with pad link and it didn’t work, makes no sense. Thanks for sharing this workaround.
yeah bro, they really need to fix that lol, we shouldn’t have to do it this way, hopefully they listen to us and change that in the future.
What controller do you use?
I use an evolution mk249c controller
Hmmm… cool tip – thanks.
I tried stacking VST sounds by just loading one into each Module in Maschine, but alas, only one will play at a time that way.
ALTHOUGH… you can load a sound into one module, and then load a Kore effect into the second, that will work (but its not really the same, is it?
If you have Kore, this really isn’t needed 🙂 But I showed it with Maschine only. However, when you load the Kore effect in and effect slot it will not receive midi, so you have to load kore on the first slot
i can get it working when i do it through Kontact on the omni channel but cant get this one working, no idea how to change my midi controllers channel ha!… using a novation SL mk 2 if anyone knows how?
No doubt fam, try this one instead, it’s better

yeah man thats pretty cool, little confusing though! i think i’ll come back to it tommorow with a fresh head, trying to link these sounds from maschine to the keys has got me a little confused right now!.. cant process any more info!!
Ahahahahahaha lol, yeah this one was first for midi based, then I showed the other one which is much easier and you can save the sounds for later use.
What are you doing there at 3:44 to make the note that recorded at the end of the phrase to move it to beat 1? Thats one thing that frustrated me about Maschine, I always delete the last note and manually put one in beat 1 of the sequence.
Yeah man, it’s frustrating. You can do a shift+pad 5 to quantize it and it usually moves it where you need.
