Hey this is just a really quick tip for those new to using Maschine as a standard MIDI device.
I get a lot of questions about how to add or create templates as well as how to open up the “controller” interface.
In order to do this you need to open Controller Editor which is a standalone application that gets installed with Maschine
This quick video shows the basics of adding a brand new template, adding one of the factory templates, or adding a template you’ve downloaded.

Saint Joe great vid fam…….U read me and so many others minds on this one….still wanna finish trouble shooting when you get a little time…I got the join me acct….peace
No doubt fam, glad to help, I know this caused some confusion. And hit me up fam, so we can see what you got going on.
So where can I download the Massive template?? iv looked high and low and cant find anything.
I don’t believe they made one for the mk2, it was originally created for the mk1 controller. Maybe because Massive automaps in Maschine now they didn’t do it.
Always good video’s…Thanks I got a question, I created several templates for pad scales ( A Major, A Minor, A# Major ETC…) How do I change 2 of the top buttons to reflect Octave Up and Octave Down. I got the buttons named, they just don’t function. Using it as a Midi controller with Maschine 2.0
Thanks
You can’t map octave up and down you have to use the group buttons to access different notes on the pads.
Thanks for that quick response….cool, so I can have group A for Oct 0, group B for Oct 1, group C for Oct 2 etc…for each scale? One more thing fam, I know you busy, is there a limit to the templates? I have only done simple Major and Minor and that’s a lot of pages…plan on doing more scales and chords?
Much Love
Yep that should work, I haven’t seen a limit yet, I say try and see 🙂
Thanks Fam…It would be easy if it worked liked the Ableton Live 9 Temp when using live 9…thought I done figured something out…LOL
Yeah, I think it has more to do with what can be mapped in any given daw/application, but I do wish it was a bit more open and flexible with general midi stuff that we could setup to work with anything.
