Yo what’s good MT fam
Just wanted to share a free video I just posted on Youtube showing off one of the new components from Komplete 8 powered by Guitar Rig 5 called Transient Master
It’s dope for getting that snap, or controlling the snap of your drums
peep
More coming of course for the fam!
Ya got Komplete Ultimate don’t ya? Ya that sounds good. SPL has the same but Ultimate 8 is a great deal when you upgrade from 7! That snap on the snare was was cool!
I did a review on the spl joint, and the price to quality man….I dunno. I mean it’s good, but it cost quite a bit more even than buying this separate. There’s a few others out there too, but yes, this is really nice on the snares son!
Yup I remember that review. It costs a bunch and Komlpete is a pretty decent deal. I really dig the stuff they stick in Guitar Rig Pro! Great effects! Ya SPL and other plugin outfits are way to pricey! N.I. is a decent deal when you get it in bulk like Komplete!
Agreed, so much stuff in there man lol.
Just had a thought,I wonder how it would affect a whole loop? The same way I guess or does it react differently when you are adding it to multiple instruments at once ie. kik.hat, snare?
it sounds great on the whole loop, depending on the dynamics of the loop. It pretty much does the same, I just did it this way for more flexibility, less attack on bass, more on snare.
But if you want the whole group with a tighter, snapier sound, you can just throw it on the group
I don’t quite understand why NI has to run these devices (Transient Master and the Vintage Compressors) within Guitar Rig.
Why can’t they just work as direct inserts – sure the CPU load would be less, right?
Because that is their FX platform, it would be nice to have them as “singles” like IK did with T Racks (used to be all in one) but GR doesn’t take much cpu on it’s own, so it’s cool. Plus in Maschine you can save the module so you can just pull up an individual item so it’s cool.
Just another general question about Transient Master – by extending the sustain of a drum hit sample, beyond the amount of sustain that the sample naturally had – is that going to introduce some sort of degredation to the sound of the sample?
it will change it’s character for sure, as you’re dragging out any air or artifacts that may be attached or on the end of the sample
Super slick. Nice tut brotha. I like my snares to slap momma’s homemade biscuits out of fools’ mouths!
I’m the same way bro, you will like it lol.
Luv what happened to the sounds that did snap both instruments out.
Nice!
Ta very much!
No doubt, thanks for checking it out!!
*sings … Solid Goooold …
Hahahaha, funny lol.
Yo Saint…I notice in your vids you have multi instances of plugins running, ie Kontakt, Kore, and in this vid ect… Does that effect your cpu? Or is there a way to multi channel route one instance? Just curious, I haven’t messed with Maschine much…just gettin into it.
You can’t route multi channel plugins in Maschine at this point, so you have to use multiple instances. How it effects your cpu depends mainly on your computer specs. I don’t run into any issues using multiple plugins.
Thanks bro…I kinda figured, seing the way ur routing. Will be nice if that was ever implemented!! Dueces!!
yeah, hopefully in the future man 🙂
very cool…would love to see more guitar rig in maschine tutorials….i find im using it on everything lately…wondering more about how to change up the effects in maschine using automation…
so if i did this and made a drum loop, i could just bounce it and chop it and then have pre-transient mastered drum hits right? like extra snappy snares all ready to go….and save on the cpu usage…
yes indeed, thats a great way to use fx and “print” them onto your sounds, perfect sound design tool
