This maschine tutorial video in the software interface overview shows the various tools found in the control area, this area is where most of your sound design, creation, and manipulation will take place so it’s a good idea to be very familiar with it
The control area was changed a bit in Maschine 1.6, please watch the updated video so there is no confusion: Maschine 1.6 new modules and control area

(@ 1:02) Looks like the page selection in the Sound tab is now different in 1.6. It is now just a drop down menu nest to the Voice Settings.
Small detail but it threw me off for a second.
yeah fam, I actually meant to add a link in this post to the new updated control module video I did! Gotta get on it!
can I control the knobs / pages from my midi keyboard (axiom)? I cant find whether or not those knobs are midi. I really want to get my transport controls over to my keyboard as well. Is there a midi diagram for the maschine.
i think you have to use the macro knobs to assign ccs, I don't think everything on that page/area is midi mappable.
looks like I gotta fork over dough for that novation sl like I planned aw shucks, thanks.
I don’t think it has to do with your controller but moreso Maschine, You can assing midi to Maschine’s transport, etc.
And to assign midi to the knobs in the control area you have to setup a macro for it to use, then midi map your controller to the macro lol
i’ll try to get a video done on mapping the macros
yo chief if you get that novation let me no what you thiink…i was lookin into one for dub…..
looks like ima be peepin this video out till i get all that down
Cool, that’s what it’s here for 🙂
is there a shortcut for changing to full screen view in the software?
On a PC it’s the F5 button, not sure what that would equate to if you’re on a Mac
Hi there
Loving the site, thanks for all the hard work.
Sorry, slightly unrelated post, but Im a bit confused as to how you complete tasks on the site. At first i assumed it was just wathing the vids but noticed on my dashbord I have a 0 for completed task. Also, I made some notes during the first video but my notes section says nothing saved.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Glad you like it man! As for the notes/tasks it’s pretty much if you take notes make sure you click save, the tasks are really just for you to save your favorites if you wish.

Cheers man.
I usually use a note pad…going back through to find a bit of info from way back is always a nightmare. This will make life alot easier.
Thanks again
Cool man, I’m the same way, I use text files lol. Let me know if you have any issues.
This site is great give thanks. Just a bit confused. I am trying to follow step by step, and I am realizing thing look a bit different. I have the MKI controller but am using 1.8 update. In the control section when you load a sound you have pages to scroll through, I do not they are not there for me. Is this do to different version 1.6 VS. 1.8 ? or have I messed up some where with set up parameters. I just really want to understand everything. MASCHINE is huge want to make sure I am getting it… Read more »
Yeah this is one of the older videos that showed the older version of the software, which is similar but a few things are different. You still have pages when loading a sound they’re just accessed via drop down instead of the arrows like in this version.
Thank you for the quick response, really thankful. Just want to clarify. When I load a sound there are 4 file tabs with drop down menus to the right in the control section just like your screen. On your screen pic they are have the headings SRC, FX1, FX 2, and out. Mine are blank but they have drop down menus to select: none, sampler, input, midi out, the plug-ins, or fx, and open and save as. Your tabs are also pre tagged it seems with SRC,FX1, FX 2, and OUT. Do I have something wrong or iIs this all… Read more »
Yeah the tabs changed between this version and the latest version. This was one of the earlier videos if you notice there is a link to the 1.6 update which changed the module section in the description of this post. Here’s the direct link https://maschinetutorials.com/overview-of-the-new-modules-and-module-area-in-maschine-1-6 Yyou now have 4 tabs per pad, the first slot you load a sound, then the other 3 you can load fx. You can manipulate the output from the first tab. If you want to load vst fx or internal modules from the hardware you can press shift+browse and it will allow you to scroll… Read more »
Thank you once again with the quickness of the response. This helps me to be mouse free and the answer you gave me was on the spot. there will probably be other questions along the same lines due to the fact I bought the first Maschne right before the new Maschine was released. So I got the older Maschine with the newer updates, sound libraries, and 1.8 update. Some stuff looks the same, other stuff looks different. So as I try to follow and learn I just want to make sure I am on the right track, and I am… Read more »
No problem man, any questions you have just ask, if you need a video to explain it just let us know!
Do you have tutorials for maschine mikro with mashine 2?
Yeah we have some, though the software tips work on all controllers. If you have show civic questions in regards to the mikro feel free to ask. Here’s a few mikro vids. https://maschinetutorials.com/category/maschine-mikro/
hey saint joe, under the sounds, there’s two knobs right next to the spund itself… one turns up the level and the other one i haven’t found out what it does yet… was looking under your videos and haven’t found one where that responds to that yet as well as looking in the maschine 2.0 manual… surely i’m just missing it somewhere? it would definitely be in the maschine 2.0 manual as well right just to satisfy my curiosity? wondering if they left stuff out in the new manual etc?
thanks!
That’s the pan knob 🙂
ok i finally found out in the audio routing category in the manual but wow took me forever to find it! thought’d it be a lot easier to find just that knob info! is there a video on here where you go more in depth on this saint joe? thanks!
You can also do it in the mixer itself, it’s your pan left/right knob.
