Just downloaded the Sonar trial last night, wanted to see how to bounce tracks from Maschine into it for those that use it.
So this is just a vid showing how to take what you have in Maschine and bounce it directly into Sonar X1
This is another option other than drag and drop or exporting from maschine, if you like to record your audio in real time, here’s the way.

I think I might have found a replacement for Acid Pro 7. The new look of that daw is nice and neat.
Have you tried studio one demo? You should demo them both 🙂 Sonar is okay but always felt a little “busy” to me.
Either way, download that demo and let me know what you think about it.
I did and thought it needed more work. I may have to download an updated version. Just downloaded cubase 6 trial and I think I’m going to need a rocket science degree.
Yeah never messed with Cubase personally, but will try the demo, I like S1 out of all the ones I’ve tried it’s the cleanest and simplest while still having dope features. Sounds good too. S1 is still the daw I use if I need to use one, but I’m down to try everything at least to see how Maschine can work in it.
i have sonar i like the work flow and some of the little stuff is really cool like u can resize every screen save screen templates every inst. has its own pro channel
I feel ya man, it’s all about what you like, glad we have many choices!
Hey SJ, did u do a video like this for Studio One?
I showed how to route audio into S1 but I’m going back and showing how to render tracks/beats into every daw I can, so I will be doing another one for S1 🙂
Thanks Big Homie! Looking forward to it!
No doubt, and make sure yall using the suggestion forum, we always looking for new stuff to cover!
We come up with a lot, but also base a lot off of questions and comments we get from yall!!
I know yall got some ideas son!
Can U bounce out like that in Ableton?
Will be a different process, will be doing a video on it.
Cool.
We need some Pro tools videos SJ. I know you said your in the process of copping it …… but I would love to see PT’s play with Maschine.
I haven’t been able to hook up my entire rig up yet.
Good looking in advance.
No doubt fam, it’s coming, soon as I can get me a copy lol. I know Knock just got a copy so he’ll probably start doing some shortly I would imagine once he figures it out in relation to Maschine.
S1! S1! S1!, lol.
S1 is the illsest daw man lol, gotta love it!
You like Studio 1 that much? What’s up with it that is so cool SJ? Do you like it better that Live?
I don’t consider live a “daw’ as in something I would mix/record vocals in. Live to me is more of a production tool, S1 is more what I mean when I want to mix or record vocals and such. I still think live is the best production daw, but when it comes to straight linear recording and mixing i think S1 is hard to beat, I’ve tried quite a few before I decided on the team of Live and S1, then came Maschine…so i use it the most now, the other two I barely touch anymore.
So now it’s Maschine and S1 for you huh, hmmmm thanks will look into it!
No really now it’s Maschine……. and sometimes other things but rarely as I can open all my plugins in Maschine and I don’t do much vocal recording anymore.
Got it, cool thx!
i have a problem, when i load a project in sonar all the project the i saved in maschine are invalable, i can load it but they are not working…When i load a drum kit, it dont work….
make sure it’s enabled, there is nothing specific you have to do to load maschine as a plugin or to load your project. Also check your output routing.
sonar reconize maschine like a fx i think thats why but i dont know how to do to use it like a instrument
my bad, it reconize it also like an instrument….is it normal then when i look for maschine in the instrument folder, the maschine vst is in vst 32 bits
yes it will be 32 it I think, I believe sonar has a bit bridge too so and is also 64 bit, so it’s just a matter of knowing which version you’re using and which plugin to load. Like I said, I don’t use Sonar much at all, but I didn’t have to do anything other than what I did in this video to track it out.
Hey Hey Hey! SJ, I see your post right above this one, but I still gotta ask, how in the hell do I open Maschine as a VST in Sonar 8.3.1 Producer x64? (it’s also 32bit)
I cannot figure out how or where to add the Maschine.dll file.
In fact, I’ve never used Mascine as a VST in the whole year that I’ve had it!
Someone, ANYONE, PLEASE HELP!
Gracias!
sonar has a preference option where you can tell it what folder to use to scan for vst plugins I believe.
Hello Joe
Thank you very much for this video I am user of Sonar x1 Expanded so I need get run my DAW with Maschine and also I like the way that you teach us is very clear Thanks again a have a really good day. Raf
Good news man, glad to help
Hey Joe
Really appreciate you doing a Sonar X1 tutorial. I see there’s 1 more I think so will check that out. It’s becoming quite popular as a DAW as users become accustomed to it so hope you get the urge to do more in Sonar.
Cheers
Rob (Noob on Maschine)
No problem Rob, I knew we had some Sonar users around so I had to at least cover some of the basics for using Maschine in there 🙂
I like maschine, and its scene based workflow, but it is not yet multi-core capable like Sonar, so it runs out of gas sooner when you stack up effects.
Your video showed me how to track the audio from all the scenes alongside Sonar tracks, and then bounce it automatically later. This was exactly what I wanted to know.
Thanks!
Great man, I don’t use Sonar personally but wanted to at least show this right here as I know many can find a way to use this in their workflow.
This is great, thanks so much Joe!
I’ve used Sonar as my DAW for years and it’s where I’m comfortable recording guitars, basses, vocals… and I like to use Maschine for drums.
This is way easier than how I used to do it–I would drag the MIDI from Maschine after building the beat, and put it into Sonar as MIDI. Then it would run Maschine and use it to generate the sounds.
I like this way better!
Good news man! Glad to help your workflow 🙂
Save maschine as a template (in sonar) once u have ur outs set up… I have several (templates) for maschine as well as screen sets for choppin and editing saves a lotta time on workflow…
Yes indeed!
Joe can I track out like Knock did with logic? When i have a multiple groups as oppose 2 doing each group separately?
Yeah just route it how you want, you have 16 outputs total so you can send each group to it’s own output if you want, instead of sending all the pads of one group to their own output.
thanks man that makes sense lol
no doubt 🙂
Thanks for posting this! Been a Cakewalk SonarX1 user for a couple of years now. I knew how to export the WAVs from Maschine but wasn’t to sure about output routing. Gotta do some more serious damage now! Thanks again Bruh!!!
No doubt fam glad to help!
