There are a lot of small tools and tricks you can use inside of Maschine to gain further control over your sound. One such trick is being able to quickly assign a filter to your sound/sample and then assign that filter cutoff to your modwheel.
In this quick tip I show you how to set this up so you can quickly adjust the cutoff of your filter with your modwheel, which may feel more familiar for those used to playing with different synths and keyboards.

Another lesson learned! Thanks!
glad to help man!
what keyboard are you using, is that the ultranova?
Yeah that’s the Ultranova in this video
nice i hear good things about it
It was cool, but I got rid of it lol
lol what’d you replace it with virus!?
I had the Virus for a while too, Ti and an older KB, got rid of them too lol. I prefer the sound of analog synths a bit more. Righ now I have a moog minitaur and an arturia minibrute, got a few more on my list I want also.
i tend to go more towards software anyways, especially kontakt. i feel I can get whatever sounds I need from there, even though some will argue you can never beat hardware synths, I can save tons of money and stay with Kontakt libraries and those of the sorts.
Nothing wrong with that stuff man, I love Kontakt and all the libraries. I tend to go to it for more “real” sounds though and stuff I can’t do with hardware. But there are some nice synths for it too…and yes, it’s a much cheaper addiction 🙂
yea i had a slim phatty it had awesome sounds but i didn’t use it as much as i’d like. Especially when NI keeps coming out with awesome things like Monark, i’m just more comfortable with soft synths. Access came out with the ti2 darkstar, looks so cool but i can’t justify 3k on it.
Cool man, it’s all personal preference and what inspires you. I started out on hardware stuff so I’m more inclined to it, but I love software too, I’m no snob, it’s all about whatever gives me the sound I want 🙂
yea true, ever since i found this site it just lets me know how much stuff can actually be done
Cool!
Not to mention I use my iPad as a sound module too, can’t beat synths for 20 bucks or less 🙂
yea i saw that in a couple videos i will need to get live control on mine, it seems like a real good asset.
Oh yeah, I use it as a controller too, and an arp, chord player, etc 🙂
will have to set mine up soon then!
